Yes they really are above everyone else in 4th gen (32) 59%

No they’re near the top along with others but their streams are inflated (22) 41%
Next question of the week I guess

They’re featured on TTH so I’m assuming that’s where the casual listeners are coming from + song is mostly in English, shorter than average and very streamable. I’ve been streaming their new songs for hours without even noticing (they are very catchy and earwormy)
All I know is that they're very popular among Asian Americans, basically on the same level as Valorant, raves, and boba!

No one I know knows them (I work in tech so like yeah I meet a lot of them) but that can be confirmation bias so I won’t use that as any example
Also like I’m old(er than NJ’s target audience) so it really could be just the crowd I associate with being removed from pop culture 💀🤣

What’s TTH?
they're definitely popular
i think their lollapalooza turnout will surprise a lot of people
There's alot of casual K-pop listeners basically NJ gets all of K-pop listeners tuning in + their own fandom & 90% of K-pop listeners use Spotify
That's why Cupid only lasted a few days on US Apple music + charted at 80s-90s
If super shy was really popular,it would be top 30 on US Apple music too
To date only Dyna(highest charting inside top 30 or something) & ice cream & sour candy & butter broke into the top 50 on US Apple music
they have goods streams sure but there are many factors I won't mention now lol but to say they have a good popularity in the states that's another thing
Yes they are more popular than other "4th gen" groups in the US but their Spotify US streams are very much inflated which is visible through how they don't do just as well on other platforms till they get pushed on them....
As an American I've never heard any of their songs. Case closed.

That doesn’t mean anything. I’ve not heard 99.99% of drake songs that won’t make him less popular.

Good for you. Drake sucks

I fundamentally disagree with your definition of casual fan and how you view kpop in the Us. For your response the answer to my poll is “yes” that’s all.
Interesting so people are almost half-half on this topic
You don't obtain those consistent figures without some type of populairty. NJ's reach is significantly underestimated.

Are u only-facts ? (Another user who is used to active on akp a long time ago)
Theyre pretty popular amongst the younger pop/musicheads that are actually invested in music and seek it out, yeah. I see them brought up a lot outside the KPOP niche.
The average person that just listens to whatever's on the radio or at the Grammys or whatever most likely has no idea who they are
I guess we will know when they start touring/promoting in the US...
