What apps are good for editing videos?

Are you on Mac?
I would say Final Cut Pro is the gold standard.
But I'm not experienced with others on that platform as I don't use Macs.
If you're on Windows Adobe Premiere and Cyberlink Power Director are good.
If you're on Android, which I gave the most experience with.
PowerDirector and Kinemaster are the most advanced editors your can get.

Also, I use VideoPad Video Editor. It's one of the best for me at least. I do recommend going back a few versions. It's still fully functional but you have to pay to export on the newer versions. That's pretty much the only difference and some bug updates but I rarely ever have any bug issues on there.
