I feel like it would not be ideal as a performer in Korea because you have to wear special outfits to cover them up. I wouldn't always want to wear long sleeves while performing.

There are two theories

First, the influence of people he hanged out with. He got his tattoos in the superm era. Other superm members have tattoos. Meanwhile his regular company SHINee members aka Key tried to wipe off his tattoos with cooking oil. lol

Second, his hip tattoo was part of a matching/complementary couple tattoo. He broke up hence getting rid of the tattoo.

Either way Im glad he is doing what he wants and is comfortable with it
