because then it's pretty fair game for armys to bring up 17 having quintuple (5x) the amount of album versions compared to MOTS7. why would you want that to be the focus of this thread?

Did BTS not release any albums after 2020?
They did but
BE album in 2020 with one standard version costing 50$. They did released normal priced version after 3 months
Proof in 2022 : an anthology with 2 versions, one costing 50$ and other one at normal price
Not to mention most of there Chinese fandom bid them goodbye after their controversy with Chinese government before release of BE. Chinese fans also boycotted that album. Other groups have almost 40% of their album sales from China

They did release Proof album last year but its an anthology so its mostly old songs..

Was their buying game always that strong? I didn’t know their fandom are that dedicated
They've been fighting Dream, 127, and now SKZ for the title of #2 BG sales. But this is a whole nother level. I thought it would take at least another year (i thought we would see 3-4M in album sales for Seventeen, SKZ, and maybe TXT or Enhypen this year) but 17 will likely end up at 5M on Gaon by the end of the year. I cant remember what MOTS7's total sales number is right now, will be interesting to see if 17 will take that record as well.

and if I speak on how BTS albums have systematically been suppressed distribution-wise since 2020 so that a certain entity doesn't seem so dependent on them...if BE and even Proof, a greatest hits album, had the 4 versions, or even just vinyl/cassette variants, they would have beaten MOTS7 #s long ago. Keep in mind MOTS7 sold almost 3.5m actual copies upon release week and that was BEFORE their gargantuan 2020-2021 singles-driven growth period.

Lol I am not rich enough to buy standard edition. I just bought compact edition through a local online store on a discounted price which costs me around 5000pkr at that time (it was before our economy crisis)
And I don't have good enough memory to remember the exact price of a version which I didn't buy. I wrote the comment to just make that user understand my point and I think they did. Thanks for correction tho
