tbh other than the type of song one thing which is really affecting the hype of yoongi's album is back to back releases
Like crazy and face was just 2 weeks ago. There is constant influx of music and fans can't promote and stream these releases like always.
There should be atleast one month gap between 2 releases. But since they are on tight schedule and suga had to release his album before his tour starts, nothing could be done about it. And I think his tour would prove to be a better promotion of his album
i thought it was common knowledge that bts have been shadowbanned on YT. A group of armys did a test last year and found that the algorithm automatically filtered/deleted streams at a much higher rate when the video was associated with a bts hashtag or bts in the name/description. So yeah not an excuse. It's the reality unfortunately.

True, but it make me wonder, if it was Jungkook who released this song, just like how he put out "Still With You" and "Stay Alive" which are slower and chill songs, would it have been received more..............and the answer is yes

There's a big popularity gap between the hyung line and maknae line.
Which BTS members as a whole are all popular yes, but just speaking on among the fandom.
The same go-get-it energy for Jimin is not happening with Yoongi.
Literally yesterday I seen a bunch of ARMY on Twitter complaining about how the energy isn't there and no one is streaming the song as much.
If this was a Jungkook song, this would have been replayed multiple times and broke so many records by now, it wouldn't have mattered if it was a "slow song"
the mv is also pretty unimaginative. if the fandom weren't so defensive about numbers they wouldn't be stressing so much about this. all the excitement about like crazy is because it's a gp friendly song with an English version. and smf2 had better numbers because it was the first ml release. lc did not have the same views.
this collab with IU will not have the same numbers as LC. it's a slow song with a lot of rapping. yoongi solos will not be having a good week. still, yoongi must've put all the budget on the title track, didn't he film something in Thailand?
