cupid twin version pulling 2.7 million streams in Spotify. It charts top 25 on global the numbers may go increased further. It's unseen for a small group like fifty fifty. Also more than that it is English version that is doing great compared to Korean one. Do that prove that along with Korean ones if kpop groups release their English version or direct English songs does it helpful for global popularity. Most of the kpop groups sound nice in English songs too.
Cupid twin version is so big on Spotify. Is this the time kpop groups release English version of their Korean release

Idk how much of their budget their company allocated to promoting on spotify, but whatever it is they made a very smart move and chose the perfect song to push an english version. Very relatable and most importantly not-nonsensical lyrics + pleasant, melodic easy listening music + rich, beautiful vocal timbres and solid vocal skills = recipe for success. Props to big 3 companies if they want to uphold their pride and stick to the signature bombastic and incohesive style they’ve been producing the past half a decade but if they want more success on spotify they have the winning recipe right here from a nugu group

but if the song itself doesn't caters to many people's taste then it would be just another expenses right?
also, in cupid's case, besides the good song and the company's decision, it's also thanks to their relentless fans who promotes it in tiktok like 24/7. (even tho big company could easily achieve this too)

that’s true, but I don’t necessarily put that on big companies’ creative input as much as on their executive decisions. i’m pretty sure they’re more than capable of producing easy listening music like fifty fifty is doing, but the thing is in their pov doing that is the opposite of innovative bc it’s too safe or “generic” or whatever, hence all the noise trends in recent years lol, the first culprit of which is nct. we’ll see if they stick to their gun till the end or if they’ll eventually drop that incohesive noisy style they’ve been pushing out

will it be a fluke or will they be able to maintain hype? i think top 10 is within their reach.
The question is will their label be able to use this to the group's advantage or will the song be bigger than them...
