    I agree, they didn't even give Joy a new song in her first album, and that's what pissed me off the most. It's been 4 years and they still haven't released an album for Joy properly, they don't her promote individually either. Moreover, her album was very successful even though it was a remake. But Joy has no privileges, they released the remake album because the she has Ost was successful that year, otherwise SM wouldn't have given a remake album or anything like that, She also her own searched for the old songs. At least Yeri acting on drama series and with her own efforts she has become more successful in that field. But SM is not promoting her either, she is the only member who has not released an album.

She probably fought for better treatment during contract negotiations. Seulgi renewed immediately, while Irene took months. This is why her Chinese fans early this year sent a truck questioning why SM placed her in a unit after she had proven herself as a soloist. While it could be what Irene and Seulgi wanted, it does seem that SM consistently ties Irene to the group or a unit whereas her members don’t appear to be as restricted. In my opinion, Joy’s dramas didn’t leave much of an impact so when she returned to focus on the group, there was a noticeable gap. She has recently renewed so it will be interesting to see how SM supports her moving forward.

    We don't know how long it took anyone to renew. Their contracts could be staggered.


    Irene's akgaes bitched about her being in a subunit because they're complete idiots with no respect for the will of the artist they claim to be fans of. She clearly enjoys working with Seulgi and the rest of RV. Luckily for them, the performance on Irene's birthday got cancelled, so they don't have to watch her share the stage with anyone. Hooray.


    You can't say they "tie Irene to the group" when she's already had a solo debut, starred in a movie and had quite a few solo brand deals.

    We have an idea about their renewal. Yeri's renewal is not the same year as the others. Just look at the dates when they were first introduced.


    Irene Bar is close with Irene and has been with her up through ups and downs. It was Seulgi akgaes who insulted Irene before the subunit even happened.

    Not one of these people are even remotely "close" with Irene. They've probably never even met her, and if any of them have, I guarantee she remembers none of their names. They are so-called "fans," nothing more. They need to learn their own boundaries and start respecting her wishes. And no one is interested in a "he said, she said" akgae war either. The artists in question, who are good friends and enjoy working with each other, would think they're all parasocial losers who need to mind their own business equally. They have no right to dictate the artist's career path. Besides, with RV's status currently in question, what exactly did they expect to see this year, if not an Irene & Seulgi comeback?     No it isn't. That's why some could tell when they were about to renew. Irene's delayed renewal even put her on a tight spot because an article was released framing her that if she doesn't renew then RV cannot comeback.


    I'm an Irene fan and clearly she's not your bias. RV in general is dominated by Seulgi's subfandom and OT5 who don't want Irene to thrive. Irene Bar gave this letter to Irene back in 2022

    Are you an Irene fan? Because you sound much more like an Irene akgae to me. Two very different things. Suggesting the RV fandom is "dominated" by people who "don't want Irene to thrive" is completely laughable and something only a paranoid akgae would say. No, the rest of the fandom is not out to get you or Irene. Most just want what's best for the entire group, not a single person.
