Do music shows force idols to lip sync or use loud backtrack?

Onew does not like using backtracks for his performances.

In the recent mcountdown episode, he forgot the lyrics for one of his lines and there was a quiet moment there as there was a 0 backtrack. Mnet is flat out not uploading the performance on their channel and pretending it doesnt exist??????

Like in live singing there will be mistakes and if there is no backtrack to cover it ofc it would be more obvious. But is that really a reason to just be messy and not upload the performance????? Mistakes are normal for live stages.

I remember when Jeongyeon was struggling through the Alcohol Free era none of her fancams were uploaded, and Onces were PISSED and sending mass emails to the point Jeongyeon had to come online and tell everyone that it was her decision not to have the fancams uploaded. Maybe she was lying, but that's what she said.

And MNET still uploaded Dayeon's fancam from Queendom when she fell off the stage, so maybe it was his decision?

During Dice era he did talked about how music show PDs like to insist on backtrack and tried to pressure him.

I think kpop really tries too hard to keep a front of perfection and anything that is not perfect must be hidden under the rug
