ah I copied the source code from the other thread and inputted it into a new post, which usually gets rid of the "@". But the tag seems to work regardless.
I'll type everything out in a new post tho just in case.

That's strange,
I thought the system recognized that as a tag. because when you hover over a username copied like that, it still links back to the user's profile... like a manual tag would.
Like:
it keeps the link. It usually works for me, but I wonder if this method is hit or miss
I don't know enough about code to figure out the issue though -
