well Blackpink are in hiatuss most of the times
Red velvet comeback 1 or 2 times in the year but never around the same time than Blackpink
and none of them go to year-end award show anymore which is where most idols interact with each other
considering that theey are neveer at the ssame placce at the same momeent it's hard to get new interactions between both group

They have a good relationship but are not very close, it is especially the fans who have exaggerated the thing. But could still nice if we got a stage with both group together

I'm not going to lecture you about idol interviews. But you should know if you have been following red velvet for a long time that they have always hidden their relationship and contradict each other a lot in interviews, you can easily find red velvet interviews where they will tell you that they are friends with this group or this idol , then in another they will say that they have no friends in the industry. it's always very hard to know.
I know we've seen videos of the two bands together at awards shows or pictures of Irene having a meal with jennie...but does that mean they're still friends or still in touch ? idk
