In their own weird way, they really respect idols who in relationship.

They could have easily been like "well maybe he is your boyfriend but you get side chick treatment, because I am more important" or instead of "oh now I can't have him" they could easily be like "I'm gonna steal him from you" or "look he is texting us instead of you" or "b*tch behave it's my money you are spending" and so on.

I think it totally depends on the fandom though, some people are just totally not respectful, or actually don't see it as a parasocial relationship at all tbh.
