DO you guys ever get slow motion anxiety attacks???

  • Hello dear. Yes, I use to get them all the time. Before I saw a specialist for it I used to just go to a calm spot (stairwell at work where nobody usually is around) and do breathing exercises when I got these.

Like the ones where you focus on your breathing actively and zoom out of anything else that your brain can be thinking about.

Are you able to see someone for it? There are very good meds these days

When did they all start for you? MInes was a reaction to a bad trip on drugs. Ever since then I had them. They were worst at first but then they went away and I thought I was completely healed until today when it happened again. I am stuck :((( And yes i say a therapist but i stopped it when I got better I also got this drug called ativan but it made it a little biti worse. I dont want a medication to cover up my problem tho. I want to treat it. I never lived this kind of life before, this is all new. I never been an anxious or scared person. :((((((((((( I want my life back

Mine started after some personal life problems.

The medication is not to cover up your symptoms but to make you a functional human despite these attacks. Therapy should be helpful long-term but in the short term nothing wrong with considering meds. Personally not a fan of Ativan either.

    Sorry your episodes came back

How frequently do you get your attacks???

  • How did it start for you????

alot of anxiety building up and I kept dismissing them

    So they turn into attacks

One thing that helps is to hourly check in with yourself and acknowledge things you are anxious about and write them down.

That way they won't pile up to attack you

  • I have done as I suffer anxiety but luckily I haven't had a panic attack in a while even though my job is stressful. I find deep breathing works as well as positive self talk. It depends on the situation though.
