How popular are some groups actually outside of fandoms

    I'm a multi and I stan a lot of groups and recently I've been wondering how popular is such group actually, so I wanted to create a discussion talking about how popular they are outside of their fandom


    A couple of groups I wanted to ask about:


    NCT: I recently got into the fandom and I feel like I see them everywhere now. Is it just because I'm now a fan and paying attention and looking for them or have they actually gotten more popular recently.


    Day6: How many people outside of their fandom know them, I feel like since they are a band they are treated like they are slept on underrated etc. but like how popular are they really


    Xdinary Heroes: How many people know about them or have heard their music?

    But for real... the fandom has definitely grown a lot over the last few years. I see new people saying "what who is this?" every few days which is really nice to see. :finger-heart:

    This such a dumb question that keeps getting asked what does it even mean “outside” of the fandom? It’s some weird made up definition about who is a “casual” listener. If person who just enjoys for visuals and watches a few videos on YT, a casual listener or fandom? How about someone who only listens to the music and nothing behind the scenes are they the casual listener? Are you a casual listener if you stan someone else “on paper” but also listen to the other group?


    A question has no answer when it didn’t have any meaning in the first place.

    Day6 is probably the most popular idol band in SK tbh. I feel like people sometimes underestimate how popular. Their songs are more popular than many groups who have more physical sales than them. Just for comparison, You Were Beautiful has over 200k Melon likes, that is higher than any EXO song, and higher than any Twice song that isn't Cheer Up (not the best comparison but you get my gist).


    What you said is true, people dismiss them because they are a band but they are actually pretty popular secretly.


    Xdinary Heroes is probably still nugu. They depend more on international fanbase for now. With that being said, they are the lesser nugus in a sense that even though they are not popular, they are more known than many other groups that are literally unknown.
