Why is Lesserafim Yunjin not really popular in her group?

  • I do not stan the group so I don't really know much about them. That is why all this time I thought Yunjin was one of the popular members of the group but then I checked her fancam and the views says otherwise. For fearnots here why? Genuinely curious since gurl has got it all tbh

  • lmao View validity was destroyed by the mindless streaming of kpop long ago.

  • It’s odd. She’s receiving a lot of praise and she seems to be a lot of people’s bias but for some reason her fancam views are really low :/

If you check the poll on Kprofile she’s ranked #1, even above Sakura.

  • Probably because of her being a foreigner? Ik she's Korean but she's still a foreigner to them. There's even a term I don't remember rn.

Idk. Usually, Koreans are not warm to foreigners unless their personality is what the natives like (cutie Sana) or looks like their perfect ideal beauty standard (Kazuha).

I guess lsf are not popular enough internationally (the west) or she is not popular enough internationally

  • In Korea she seems to be pretty loved

Anyways, individual fan cam views only show how hardcore the fans are. She probably just has a lot of casual fans

its kpop, receiving praise doesn't equal popularity or views sadly. if it based on talent musical talent alone, how many have been buried by the public...ahhh so sad.

  • I mean if you think about it, Chaewon and Sakura get a lot of views because they already had a fanbase. Kazuha doesn't, but she went viral at debut and so is at least a familiar face outside the fandom/has eyes on her rn. I genuinely just think it's because she hasn't had a viral moment/isn't as known to the public as the others.

  • Why do kpop fans always boil popularity down to just fancams?

  • she seems assertive independent and smart, and for whatever reason that has never translate to popularity outside of (kpop) fans? i.e. i like jihyo and wendy who also have similar qualities but they're not what gp really associate as the most popular member of their group. respected, yes, but not popular.

I agree. That type of woman isn't appreciated or celebrated in SK or by kpop fans. Look at the hate that Jessie gets from kboo kpop fans because she is too "western" and not feminine/docile enough. SK and Kboos love "pure" women, isn't that why white skin is so valued? Because white is "pure" looking and not because they want to be caucasian.

Most people don't like Jessi cause shes problematic

  • She is popular, just not among people who mass stream fancams

Fancam views aren't always a good indicator of popularity.

  • For some reason, kpop fans don't really stan American kpop idols. Australian and Canadian kpop idols click with kpop fans more. Maybe it's the rebellious independent streak Americans delude themselves into cherishing.

  • fancams views don't determine someone's popularity usually the rappers and dancers get the most views or well rounded idols, Main vocalists don't get high views

  • Why do kpop fans always boil popularity down to just fancams?

i'm suga biased and i don't watch his fancams. i wouldn't say that his lack of views on fancams makes him less popular. or at least i assume his fancams don't have many views, i don't know lol. but maknae line solo and akgaes watch their fancams, they really think they are proving something with that

not everyone watched fancams, that's not a good metric to show one's popularity

  • She’s more popular internationally among casuals but in the Korean fandom she’s slipped below Eunchae a bit after this cb which means she’s got lowest amount of hardcore fans to stream fancams, and she didn’t have a viral moment like Kazuha so her fancams didn’t enjoy any boost in views from casuals either.

  • The least popular idols can be the most casual and international fans. As you say they respect their talent. For example, Wendy is the member that sells the most albums. Besides, everyone thought she was less popular. Fancams aren't the only criteria for overall popularity.

  • Tbh I think her brand is more what people look for in becoming fans of English-speaking artists (being real, being confident). Not what people are looking for in K-pop idols

  • For some reason, kpop fans don't really stan American kpop idols. Australian and Canadian kpop idols click with kpop fans more. Maybe it's the rebellious independent streak Americans delude themselves into cherishing.

that could just be because there are popular Australian and Canadian K-idols though, I don't even know any idols that are American

I think Felix, Bang Chan, Rosé, Wendy, Mark, etc. are cool because they can speak English and speak it as a native language. I'm not sure that would change if they were American instead of Australian/Canadian.
