lmao View validity was destroyed by the mindless streaming of kpop long ago.

Probably because of her being a foreigner? Ik she's Korean but she's still a foreigner to them. There's even a term I don't remember rn.
Idk. Usually, Koreans are not warm to foreigners unless their personality is what the natives like (cutie Sana) or looks like their perfect ideal beauty standard (Kazuha).
I guess lsf are not popular enough internationally (the west) or she is not popular enough internationally

In Korea she seems to be pretty loved

I mean if you think about it, Chaewon and Sakura get a lot of views because they already had a fanbase. Kazuha doesn't, but she went viral at debut and so is at least a familiar face outside the fandom/has eyes on her rn. I genuinely just think it's because she hasn't had a viral moment/isn't as known to the public as the others.

she seems assertive independent and smart, and for whatever reason that has never translate to popularity outside of (kpop) fans? i.e. i like jihyo and wendy who also have similar qualities but they're not what gp really associate as the most popular member of their group. respected, yes, but not popular.

I agree. That type of woman isn't appreciated or celebrated in SK or by kpop fans. Look at the hate that Jessie gets from kboo kpop fans because she is too "western" and not feminine/docile enough. SK and Kboos love "pure" women, isn't that why white skin is so valued? Because white is "pure" looking and not because they want to be caucasian.

Why do kpop fans always boil popularity down to just fancams?
i'm suga biased and i don't watch his fancams. i wouldn't say that his lack of views on fancams makes him less popular. or at least i assume his fancams don't have many views, i don't know lol. but maknae line solo and akgaes watch their fancams, they really think they are proving something with that
not everyone watched fancams, that's not a good metric to show one's popularity

She’s more popular internationally among casuals but in the Korean fandom she’s slipped below Eunchae a bit after this cb which means she’s got lowest amount of hardcore fans to stream fancams, and she didn’t have a viral moment like Kazuha so her fancams didn’t enjoy any boost in views from casuals either.

For some reason, kpop fans don't really stan American kpop idols. Australian and Canadian kpop idols click with kpop fans more. Maybe it's the rebellious independent streak Americans delude themselves into cherishing.
that could just be because there are popular Australian and Canadian K-idols though, I don't even know any idols that are American
I think Felix, Bang Chan, Rosé, Wendy, Mark, etc. are cool because they can speak English and speak it as a native language. I'm not sure that would change if they were American instead of Australian/Canadian.
