Basically said that accidents could happen to anyone, anytime and saying something cynical like "why did they even go into the crowd" has no place in a situation like this.

He's also asked for people to be respectful towards the victims, and stop sharing graphic images of them, stop mocking the victims and have empathy.

He ended it by wishing for the souls of the victims to rest in peace.

🤣🤣 🤡🤡 We did Lol but that's not the problem. Kinda funny someone used that as the reason for this. As for fixing the area it's going to be a tough sell because all those buildings etc existed where it was before this happened and nothing like it has ever happened before. So history plus the impracticality of moving buildings would likely result in nothing being done. Only thing I see happening now is some regulations on how many people can be in that space and more crowd control, other than that. I doubt anything major will be done in the area. Only other way I see the area changing is if the memory of that day becomes a stigma and people begin avoiding it entirely and businesses etc move from that spot then eventually that are would be reformed but part of it likely won't because a memorial will likely be placed

  • Saw that too, but I think the worse are the ones saying that this is Satan's sacrifice for celebrating Halloween :pepe-shame: There was even one saying that thanks to God mercy, there were only 154 deaths.

Oh yes, thanks, God, for only letting 154 human beings die :pepe-shrug:

I saw so many garbage takes that I couldn't read them anymore and had to stop and take a break

I'm glad people are aware of this. For far too long, powerful figures in society have always scapegoated innocents in order to evade accountability.

Especially in a tragedy such as this - one that could have easily been avoided through government regulation - it is especially unforgiveable to scapegoat victims.

I'm very glad Holland has spoken about this, especially given that he already faces enough undeserved hostility. It's courageous people like him, willing to use their platform to make thoughtful statements, that progress society towards a better future.
