BTS is more successful than other bgs but they're not blocking anyone. There are many successful groups selling out 50K shows and selling millions, which is hardly poor performance
Name one group that isn't BTS that's CURRENTLY selling out 50,000+ shows in kpop?????
I'm not talking about 3rd gen groups either since their more established, but if you wanna bring them up you can, even though I'm talking about currently during this time period not years ago? Also don't tell me about how many people was in a line waiting for tickets online, I'm talking actually performing for them.
Also Mass buying has sky rocketed these recent years, so hitting a million or two of album sales to ME isn't that impressive, nowadays all you need is a good amount of U.S fans to buy a bunch of Album units, and you topping billboard 200 Albums chart, or at least hitting in the top 10...sadly albums don't even gotta be good anymore, just bad music with fans who wanna just reach achievements, but not streaming cuz they themselves know the music ain't all that or they listen to it over and over to brain wash themselves.
So these "measure of success" is still good for them and it's cool, but it's not as impressive anymore. Imma need some more better achievements for me to say a group, in particular 4th gen is REAL REAL successful

Fair points here.
I should have phrased it: There are many successful groups selling millions and some selling out 50K shows. (There aren't many groups selling out 50K shows, but there are some.)
Seventeen sold out the Tokyo Dome pre-covid but it was cancelled and has a rescheduled dome tour this year. They have already played concerts of 35-39K already this year, so I would assume they can again.
NCT 127 sold out 50,000+ shows in Osaka and Tokyo this year.
SM combined the online and offline numbers so it's hard to tell the final totals on NCT Dream's and NCT 127's shows at Jamsil this year (135K over 2 days for Dream and 120K over 2 days for 127, but don't know how much physical and how much online show.) Ticket watchers were reporting 45-49K each night, based on the available seats, for 127 and 60K each night for Dream but I can't confirm that.
Pre-COVID and pre-enlistment, EXO and Shinee were also able to reach those totals and it's possible when all the members are back that they can reach those totals (EXO in Korea, Shinee in Japan). EXO sold a million albums with no promo so the fanbase is there.

There are still a lot of kpop groups not selling a million and only a handful selling more than 2M or have been in the top 10 on Billboard. This just feels like an excuse to downplay the success of other groups. Again, BTS is clearly the most successful group, but there are other successful groups in kpop.
For example Stray Kids is the fourth most streamed kpop group on Spotify (and the second most boy group) AND topped the Billboard charts AND is selling out arenas. Seventeen is the sixth most streamed kpop group on Spotify, one of the top sellers in Japan, in the top 5 on the Billboard charts and selling out on its tour. NCT 127 is the eighth most streamed kpop group on Spotify, in the top 3 on Billboard charts and selling out domes.
So what do you consider 'real real' measures of success if not sales, streaming or touring? Those are literally the key metrics of success?I mean I'd argue that people willing to pay $80-100 for the "cheap" seats to your concert is a pretty 'real real' metric.
