AKP TWICE 7th Anniversary Event - START THREAD

I got into Twice during the spring of 2020. I don't know what specifically drove me to this group but I'm so thankful I've discovered them. This group and their music have gotten me through some tough times, and I can always count on a Twice song to lift my spirits when I'm feeling down. If I'm in a rut or a just had a argument with someone, I know Twice will be there when I need to escape from my emotions and reality. This groups music is like serotonin injected straight into my brain, which is exactly what I need most of the time.

Twice's concept and identity really spoke to me as well. Their brand of being bright, cute, and hyperfeminine is something I can relate to. It may not seem to be a big deal to some people, but it is to me. This kind of cuteness if really looked down upon where I'm from. Its seen as childish and immature to like being cute. Especially in my racial group, and I feel a constant pressure to be mature and sexy even though I'm not an adult yet. Finding a group that is confidant in performing these types of concepts, even as adults, means the world to me. And it shows me that there is nothing wrong with the way I want to express myself.

Thank you Twice, so much. I hope they will continue to be together for another 7 years. Because I will be there with them every step of the way.

Twice was not my first choice in kpop group, or 2nd......or 3rd.....

I didn't like cute songs when I got back into kpop, so automatically I can't stan Twice because I dont like their music.

I only wanted to listen to the hardcore badass songs. When I got back into kpop, I Only stanned groups like Blackpink, Dreamcatcher, Everglow, post-Hobgoblin CLC, etc.

I can't be caught in Chicago listening to Cheer Up and TT and all the other girly shit.

I'm a guy, I have to listen to stuff with hard beats and tough raps....or so I told myself...

And then one day, I came upon a video...I'm not gonna post the video since most of ya'll already know which. I saw "Nayeon loves herself" video and thought this girls personality jumps out at you. She can't not be ignored...she's impossible to ignore, her presence just jumps out of the screen and in your face.

Her confidence and self love is something I could never imaging having that much of but this ball of ultra concentrated positivity destroyed me and took down my wall. She had this grown ass man going uwu.....I was a mess. I've never seen an idol with such wit, humor, her overwhelming personality can man the outgoing celebrities seem dull as a rock washed over one too many times by the ocean.

And for a long time, I was a Nayeon stan, so much of a stan that I randomly felt bad for calling myself a Once. I kept wondering am I an akgae? I only focused on Nayeon, I only watched the vlives that Nayeon is in, I only watched pay attention to the variety parts where Nayeon comes on the screen.....

And then eventually, I opened up and let the cute music in. I saw a "kpop in public" video of Yes or Yes and fell in love with the song. Suddenly, songs like TT sounds good. I found my self Ohh Ahhing. My heart was shaken, Twice got me feeling special, feeling fancy.

Slowly, over the years, the rest of the members slowly grew on me. It was no longer just Nayeon and friends. Twice as a group, they went from being my 4th group, to my 3rd group, to my 2nd group and just very recently (past year) Twice finally took the number 1 spot for me, due to a combination for Twice offered as a group and what others weren't.

I realized all my other faves all offered the same thing. Great music. Sure some groups music is slightly better or worst than my other faves. Sometimes just a single comeback change which groups song I liked more or less but overall, they all had great music, none that was enough to definitely made any one group number 1.

Then I realize Twice offered something no other groups offered....(incoming more cheese and corn....)

The Feels....

Twice is able to tug on your heart strings. That's what made Twice difference. Other groups can made my head bop, other groups made me proud, and laugh, but none of them made me feel happy, sad, nostalgic, etc. Their music is the only group who really made me feel something. Some ballads might make you sad but very very little songs can make one feel happy. A lot of Twice songs make me feel very happy and this is extremely rare for music.

As a group, Twice always felt like they put back in as much as fans put into it. They always felt like they were there, that they were never too far, that they were always just around the corner. They constantly thank fans, they constantly update us on social media, they always communicated with fans. They made stanning a group feel two sided, it's a 2 way relationship and will only work if both parties try.

Twice work so hard for fans as well. The amount of sacrifices the gave. The endless hours working back to back, giving up meals, giving up sleep so fans can be happy. Their hard work and care shows and can actually be measured by the amount of song and content we are given.

In the end, Twice is one in a million.

I think it was just me going down the kpop rabbit hole after BP since BP don't have that much music (especially as of May 2019) so it went BP then I think RV and Twice...

best moments would probably be them on variety shows such as weekly idol, idol room, their three appearances on knowing brothers, their multiple appearances as a group on running man
