Every store charges their own price, but it's usually competitive with other stores in the area or they'll go out of business. Exception are those in very touristy areas (tourists and convenience) or if they sell goods not easily found in the area.

this explains why i didn't knew lol
It goes against the free market, so no wonder it's rare. Medicines are the only product that I know of that have a MRP here (but it's in a catalogue, not listed on the product).
we have everything with mrp and I don't understand if it's good or bad but it works for us tho
I've only ever seen MSRP for cars and that apparently stands for "minimum" suggested retail price for most stealerships here in the US.
I've only ever seen MSRP for cars and that means nothing here in the US
It's very common for electronics

we on the other hand have mrp for most of things. it makes things easy as wherever you go in india you will be charged same of that product (maybe less but not more)
As other users have already said the price is on the shelf, not the product. If there's a price on the product it's usually a sticker that the store put there themselves (smaller neighborhood stores might do this).
We don't have the price printed on the product (I have never seen it). The price is usually on the shelf where the product is placed in stores
