RE: "Why do nonfans/American public love Blackpink?"

  • OP

Maximalism is hyped by the K-pop community. 5 comebacks a year in 5 different languages. All sorts of solo and subunit projects. OSTs. 7+ members who change up their hairstyles all the time. Music shows every week. Vlogs and variety show appearances. That's fun and that's the reason why many of us love K-pop.

But it can be too much for the average non-fan to keep up with. Simplicity is preferred.

    Physically...

Rosé can be considered naturally blonde at this point. She's switched it up to pink or silver with lavender, blueish hues, but for the most part she's kept the same look. The same goes for Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo. They've been consistent with their physical appearance. That's in stark contrast to other groups. This makes it easy to distinguish among them as individuals.

    Discography

Their discography is very simple to maneuver, and it helps that their songs, even the B-sides, are extremely catchy.

Members' ability to communicate in English

    This is self-explanatory.

    Familiarity

The music sounds familiar to what Americans are used to. Yes, it's different, but there are still elements we recognize. Americans also love the idea of a group or team with members who are so different from each other yet work together cohesively and effectively.

  • also that they're a smaller group, ive noticed that's also a big thing a lot of people have pointed out :enhypen-bop:

  • maybe also the fact that their names are generally easy to pronounce...

there is extensive study done that said that job applicants with difficult to write or pronounce names had a harder time getting interviews
