It’s a lot easier for them to compete nowadays. I think that’s the key here. The accessibility. Of course, just because the accessibility is there, doesn’t mean it will apply to everyone. Still, if the trajectory continues, the playing field can be come even more even or even overtaken.

Yes they're on the same level to me i recently saw the sales of boy group ( which i forgot about) and they had 500k first week sales for their album that the same as ggs now days

The biggest money maker in YG is Blackpink, In JYP Twice, in SM it’s NCT but with these sales Aespa will probably lead.

I think there are two things here that are missing: touring power, which we haven’t seen yet from the new crop of gg with big album sales so don’t know, and longevity. SNSD, BP, Twice and RV have shown longevity and strong sales are possible, but even mid-tier bg are selling robust sales and touring six or seven years into their career, while many gg do not, so I think gg still need to show that longevity to really be on par. The way that current gg have more female fans (similar to the bg) may be the key to that longevity but it remains to be seen.

aespa is doing great but NCT sold 11M of the 18M albums SM sold last year, so no aespa will not lead as the moneymaker by selling 1.6M.

That’s not even counting touring sales from their shittily planned world tour, or merch like the sold-out Sanrio-NCT collaboration.

I didn’t say tomorrow but in the long run they may their fanmeeting did quite well despite not being a tour.
