What happened with Leeseo hype?

She went super viral during debut era and koreans were all over her and I even saw threads made on this forum claiming she is the next big idol. Her fancam views even surpassed wonyoung in some performances where she went viral.

But ever since love dive her hype seemed to have declined or even disappeared completly. Her after like fancams have always the lowest views

What happened? It kind of looks like starship has tried to diminish her hype during love dive era cause she didn’t get any memorable parts and much less screentime.

I think Starship is pushing Rei really hard out if the non exizone members. She always gets major parts throughout every verse and chorus, and now even a rap part while still being a prominent vocalist. She is always super present in every comeback and with her rap now she got even more hype. It seems like Starship tried to push back leeseo in favor of Rei/Womyoung who get all the memorable parts

I think Rei deserves the attention as I truly think she is the strongest performer (imo tied with Leeseo for best in the group), but I find it a little sad that Leeseo’s organic popularity from her debut era has fallen so hard and I kinda blame starship for wasting that potential.

I do think Starship tries to push Leeseo, she is singing the chorus in After Like, for example. The part is barely within her range and she can't consistently sing it live, yet Starship gave it to her over Liz. I'm not hating on them for doing it, I can understand the logic behind putting your 3 'visual' members (although the entire group is pretty) in the center for the most impactful part. That's just to point out that Starship are definitively still pushing her.

You mention Love Dive but she had the second 'Narcissistic'-part which is arguably the highlight of the entire song.

During Eleven era she kinda just went viral on her own over a random moment.

She's talented and charismatic performer for sure, reminds me of Yujin a lot. Vocals are her weak point but there is potential for the future there for sure, she's quite stable and loud in her range but the range is pretty limited. You can tell she struggles a lot with the After Like chorus parts live since they're too high.

I think Starship does a surprisingly good job promoting all members, with the exception of Liz recently. WY&YJ being miles above the rest in popularity is kind of out of Starships control at this point so it's just delusional to expect 100% equal promotion for the members. The super celebs are going to have more opportunities available and it would be ridiculous to pass on them just to for the sake of equality.

How are you even saying she didn't get good lines after Eleven when she also had the Wonyoung's Narcissistic part in Love Dive that went viral and chorus for After Like. She also had high notes/difficult parts in both songs even though her voice is not strong enough for it.

Leeseo is a good idol. She has good expressions and I like her dancing but her voice is too nasal and under devoloped for chorus and high notes.

As for your question, I think Rei and Gauel just surpassed her popularity wise. Rei has a nice voice and is a good idol rapper and Gaeul gained attention for her hair during Love Dive and her part in After Like is going viral on Tik Tok. People liked Liz a lot in Eleven but she didn't get much to work with in LD and AL and now she has tons of token fans who feel bad for her or use her to hate on WY. That leaves Leeseo with nothing in particular for people to talk about.

Out of all of IVE members Leesoo is probably the most pushed after Wonyoung and Yujin. It just so happens that Gaeul happen to go viral this time around.

The whole „nasal voice“ and „parts out of her range“ argument ist irrelevant. Nobody in IVE is technically a good vocalist and they all have that thin, nasal sound - it’s not just leeseo, so imo it doesn’t matter who sings the chorus. They’re more or less the same. But yes Liz seems like the most natural vocalist with a more pleasant sound, she definetly should have gotten a chorus part

Im just trying to figure out how she could be so explosive at debut with the most fancam views over 500k to 1Million to now barely crossing 10k views while her members get 25k+ views. That drop in popularity is quiet severe and out of nowhere and the gap between her and the members is just so huge.

leeseo still lacks charisma and appeal (she's literally 15) even Liz surpassed her popularity in LD era

but now she's the second least popular member and it's because she's still very young

I think rei and Liz's voice is unique so they need more part but Starship chose a very small track so it's impossible to give a minimum amount of part of the song. Leeseo popularity is not desecrating her Brand reputation increase, total search results Naver also increasing fan cam not only scale of measure popularity I think. it is clear that won young and yujin popularity is far ahead of other members but I need to consider that they are active in the industry for 4 year. so it will take time for everyone to make an individual fan base. rei is good at attracting people she already gets a decent international fan base her Twitter post prove that.

I don't think she has declined TBH, it's more that the other members 'gained' popularity (Rei steadily increasing since debut) or had their similar viral moment (Gaeul sunbae).

In the end it only means she's the least popular among people who actually watch fancams, which honestly is a small minority. Still, it's heartbreaking to always see her last and I hope she doesn't let it affect her and can remain her usual confident self. Can't stress it enough how insanely talented she is for having so much stage presence and charisma at 15. Her web search numbers are still good and her photocards are valued among the highest in IVE currently so there are some other metrics where she's not last.

Leeseo is still a baby, but there's so much hate to her just because that cake prank and her not knowing Pikachu.

I feel like the most important is to create safe environment for her atm, her popularity will increase over time. Leeseo is still one of the fan attractor in Ive.

I still watch her Fake Love dance cover daily, cause she is just awesome.

She debuted as the youngest Kpop Idol in the Industry at the time, I remember people praising her skills etc. and I found it a little strange with how I thought she was one of the least skilled in the Group, now 3 Years later she is a much more skilled performer and nobody talks about her

Almost like her skills weren't actually what those people were really interested in, I wonder what else it could have been that changed?

I doubt it. Seeing new jeans , adult kpop fans atleast koreans dont seem to hv any qualms about stanning teens. Infact at the start of ives debut , alot of knetizens were going crazy about leeseo , but after love dive and now after like where she got more lines , gaeul and rei seem to be the ones catching the eyes of knetizens most. I dont doubt she'll be popular in the near futire as ive becomes more big but i fear she'll be under wonyoung's shadow alot due to their similarities not just in their vocals. Also except wonyoung and yujin , among the ive members , the one i see with the most star potential is honestly rei. She has consistently kept the attention of netizens since debut and only seems to be growing more in popularity after each cb.

Tbh nobody talks about any member or about Rocket Punch in general. This is not to shade them, Red Punch is one of my top 5 favorite GG albums of all time and I love their entire discography. Sadly this group is not popular enough to be talked about by non-stans anymore.
