Is it unfair groups with weak vocals get more successful than ones with strong vocals?

3rd gen: Bts, Blackpink, Twice becomes big globally while vocal skills are subpar, compared to Exo/Red Velvet.

4th gen: Ive/NewJeans score most hits recently and have the best global stats, yet have way weaker vocals than Aespa/Nmixx.

Is it unfair to see success not correlate with vocal skills?

Kpop's never been about vocals. Pop music has never been about vocals.

NewJeans is off to a hot start, but I'd still say Aespa is top 4th gen gg. NMIXX has had one title, it was bad, they can get it back.

This is pop music people, not the Opera. If you want success you must be popular first, and talent doesn't equate to that.

But that's kpop. A big part of the appeal is that you can take any average person, fix their flaws, train them to some mid level of skill and market the crap out of them and make money.

Twice is like the best example of this. One amazing dancer, two above average vocalists and then pretty much mid talent everywhere else. But with the help of Dr. Kim, they look incredible and have a massive fandom of simps that will support them until they disband, maybe even beyond.

The pop stands for popular not a godly voice.

people say nmixx is talented which i agree but i don't like their vocals except for lily. their music is hard to listen to and listening to O.O their raps are horrible. jyp ggs in general are not good at rapping. jyp should just get rid of the raps and let them sing.
