Girl Group Tier List

Now that everyone has comeback, here is the definitive tier list of top active girl groups.

S Tier

Blackpink - biggest gg in the world, mediocre comeback song let them down a bit

A Tier

Ive - three smash hits in a row, increasing album sales, have the Suzy and Jennie of 4th gen

New Jeans - crazy debut with huge success, even Blackpink couldn't dethrone them on Melon

Aespa - hit new highs on everything except Melon, and still peaked at no 8

Red Velvet - steady success as usual

Itzy - redeemed themselves as Korea put their Sneakers on

Gidle - Massive hit just pushes them into this tier

B Tier

Twice - sitting at 50 on Melon and less album sales than any of the groups above tells the story of their decline from 2018 when they were the nation's girl group

Le Sserafim - so many scandals but still surprisingly successful. Hybe power of course

StayC - stuck in B Tier

Kepler - big album sales but can't chart

C Tier

Oh My Girl - still popular but don't have the stats to back it anymore

Mamamoo - still known but fell off

NMixx - big potential but possibly have worst debut track in history of kpop

Fromis9 - mid tier

WJSN - mid tier

Loona - mid tier

Dreamcatcher - mid tier

D Tier

Everyone else you know; Everglow, Billlie, Viviz, Apink etc

Nugu Tier

Everyone else you don't know

I agree with this. I would kick Billlie into C because their collab release hit 50k and charted. NMIXX should be in B with Kep1er

They’re still convinced that their faves are the most popular in Korea

BP isn’t S tier. They are EXO level at best. A tier only. BP is the top GG in kpop but not in general. They don’t have the stats or energy to compete with the top artists in the world. BP don’t put in enough work to challenge top artists.

NMIXX shouldn't be in the same tier as Loona or WJSN...

A year or 2 ago I would've said BP are S tier for sure. But now I'm starting to doubt, seeing how 4gen rookie groups are dominating charts better than BP and TWICE comebacks.

Pretty sure they sold less than Itzy and Red Velvet too. Thing is their charting is abysmal for the supposed nation's girl group. I can't justify putting them on the same tier as those groups when they can't match charting or album sales.

Can't. They've only had one comeback and despite the okay stats, critically it was regarded as one of the worst tracks ever. If the next song is decent they will rise for sure.

This isn't compared to boy groups. There's no other gg's that are close to BP at the moment so they have to sit in a tier above.

Eh you're misunderstanding me. I meant Wonyoung is Suzy+Jennie. Yujin is popular but she's not at Wonyoung's level. At most she's the same as Winrina which would all sit the next tier down from Wonyoung from an individual recognition perspective.
