I genuinely don't get why It's popular to downplay acts for taking more time to get some achievement

Btw Dreamcatcher renew is near? I thought about them when i saw this thread. I remember their debut and seeing their fans acting super happy when they broke the 100k album sales. They have good music!!

They have done nothing but grown (steady but surly) 2022 is their year 2 wins so far and an award at their first award show ever! (I am so proud of them)

You have caught me off guard tbh, I don't know when they are to renew, but I can see all 7 of them doing so, they are growing still, getting solos and promoting title tracking in Korea and with tours all over the world, I think we have another 3 years until they may want to start going there own way

I heard about them before and yes, they are growing and keeping a good fanbase,which matters a lot in the long run. The fact that they tour in several places, are getting wins in SK pretty much gives them a good career. I know they are famous here in Brazil with the Kpop fans.

That’s why it confuses me when kpop stans of other groups esp the big 3 think it’s a drag to say ie. BTS took 7-8 yrs to get here, my fav alr got here in 3-4 years.

Like growing and rising slowly to the top is not a fking drag. Not everyone has the privilege to be handed opportunities from the get go and be put on the map.

Going by the fancams and what the members say Brazil and Mexico are crazy loud and go mental for DC (makes me happy to hear the girls say InSomnia was so loud they couldn't hear properly through their in-ears)

But my point is more about these groups that are downplayed because, let's say It took them years to sell 1 million albums when other act did in as a rookie. It took a group years to get a hit song, when someone else did with the debut. It took a group years to get a daesang, when someone else did with the first comeback It took an act years to fill a arena, when another did in the first world tour. It took a group years to surpass an amount of streams, when an act did it fastest.

Some people only want to value the first and the fastest. I think achieve big things itself is already cool.

Still be able to gain many fans and selling a specific amount of albums, getting a big award, getting a hit song, building hype and/or selling out big venues after years should be celebrated, not downplayed.

Having great success in your early career and getting everything others took longer to achieve is amazing, but we never know where we will be in the next few years.

So why not respecting big things regardless of the moment in the career they took to be achieved?

You're asking a very logical question that many kpop stans don't pay attention to. Many have a different mentality when it comes to whom they think is a flop or not, especially when it comes to the group competing against their faves.

MINX debuted in late 2014. So the Original 5 are about to be 8 years in.

So unless they resigned a new contract after the rebranding, the 5 original members should have negotiated last year. But who know how all that worked out.

Handong and Gahyeon are in their 6th year of what ever contract they have.
