I genuinely don't get why It's popular to downplay acts for taking more time to get some achievement

  • I'm constantly seeing people dragging groups for taking too long to get a specific great achivement, but shouldn't it be viewed as a good thing?

Having in mind how idols are often treated as something disposable that are replaced by the next hot thing and the industry moves too fast, barely giving space for a lot of acts to stand out.

Still be able to gain many fans and selling a specific amount of albums, getting a big award, getting a hit song, building hype and/or selling out big venues after years should be celebrated, not downplayed.

Having great success in your early career and getting everything others took longer to achieve is amazing, but we never know where we will be in the next few years.

So why not respecting big things regardless of the moment in the career they took to be achieved?

  • Because KPOP is only a competition for some people. People will ignore the success of groups just to further their own agenda.

Like, it's extremely hard to be an act with longevity and livelihood in KPOP. If a group has the option to stay together voluntarily (or even disband if they want) and are still able to afford to live comfortably financially as an idol, they have already won in the KPOP game because only 10% of groups have that luxury (maybe even less).

But yeah, that doesn't fuel fanwars so let's ignore it.

  • many people need to live vicariously through the achievements of kpop idols who don't even know of their existence.

I think It's cool and healthy to follow and discussing charting as a hobby. It's nice to see groups succedding and doing better than their previous releases. But some people don't know boundaries lol.

  • My faves are BP and BB, sorry 😔 (joked a little kkkkk)

Actually i think kpop groups having a better longevity these days and having the numbers (not for success stans agenda, but literally to have the money to keep going) is amazing and should be seeing as something good.

Not everything should be a record, look at BP, I'm here bc i love their songs and I'm glad they are still releasing (even though it's so few, i hate you YGE useless b) songs, I'm super glad they will start touring again and seeing some "old" kpop groups still active is good.

Good music is always a thing to celebrate.

And a constat growth is difficult to achieve, kpop groups that with time keeps breaking their own records are great too. In the end I'm sure real fans are just happy that their faves are still active!

Edit: sorry, i went a little off the topic kkkk, but your thread reminded me of others things...

I genuinely think It's admirable when acts pass their first contract and still stay as a group and/or are following idol life. Regardless of the fact they are in the same agency or not. It's not easy at all.

Nope, it's not easy at all. For those acts that don't give up the music industry, to be able to keep booking gigs, that's the dream as a music artist. You are literally getting paid to do what you love. And living GOOD doing it.

  • Don't go to anons now, its full of the most vile user you can ever encounter here arguing with each another over other people achievement..

Oh, I go there some times to participate in some discussions. Some threads I'd prefer to be posted on main so I wouldn't have to wait an eternity to my posts to be approved or come back randomly to see If I was responded, lmao. But I agree with you there are a lot of vile stuff that would be better to ignore.

  • I confess It made me happy to see BLACKPINK tour acts, because It seems they will be touring close to the date they signed their contract or even beyond. It gives me hope for their future. I want them to stay together for longer, If It's their wish :pepelove1:

  • As someone who has gone through pain of every comeback who was / is the current record holder of the 'most days before getting a first win', this strikes a cord

The way i complain 24/7 bc of the hiatus, but the moment BP is back I'm like "noooooo, I want them more, i need them to renew or idk, keep being BP!!! :bts-rant: " kkkkkkkkk

Actually if we go by the logic their contract are up in July and their tours end in October (?) so either a renew or we'll find out when the tour ends..

Dreamcatcher should've won their first win with Chase Me, If the world was fair, I really like It as a debut song.

Don't get me wrong I love them but I understand that the Korean GP needed time as it was quite a jarring concept to debut with, but I do think they should of won with Fly high or Deja Vu!! (I know it is not Everglows fault) but I do wonder what would of happened or how different things would be if they won back then

  • When u rise to high to fast there is no other way but down, people will expect all your songs to do as well and if u don't u are a fail

It's not just fans expectation but the company too, which may lead to make aside bc u can't reach that level anymore

I'm confident they will renew, YG gets them the solo activities they want and they are earning major money right now it would be a major falling out with the company or the girls that would be the only way I see them not renewing

Yes, even though music isn't always in my area, individually they are doing great.. i just hope that with a renewal YGE and them be more clear about their future plans for BP the group.

Btw Dreamcatcher renew is near? I thought about them when i saw this thread. I remember their debut and seeing their fans acting super happy when they broke the 100k album sales. They have good music!!
