Hypersensitivity in kpop fans

  • Why are many kpop fans so reactive when someone gives a negative review or says something slightly ambiguous about their favorites?
In English, in Spanish, no matter the language, every time I see someone outside the community talking about kpop groups they are attacked like hell by fans.

The level of emotional immersion that some people put into their favs is sometimes scary, I feel like it's only comparable to football fans. :pepe-back-away:

  • I think it might be partially because of how the idols are marketed - so that a lot of the fans feel as if they "really know them" and therefore feel closer to them. The idols appearing on variety shows, interacting with the fans non stop, having fanmeetings, these are the things that I think contribute to this, and are not common to the non-kpop artists.

That, and maybe the fact that a lot of kpop fans are very young, so they may be easily impressible and more sensitive to negative comments and criticism against their faves.

  • because it's kpop...

certain fans especially the loud vocal minority do such things and ruins it for all the silent majority...

like most things the majority of the fans whether it be sport/music/gaming/ etc etc are silent and don't need to be loud and obnoxious on social media and whatever - they enjoy their favs in peace and quite
