It's not confusing at all it's a whole metaphor about wanting to look good for others only to realize it's just so people can consume you to death :o it's about envying someone who looks better than others without realizing that that can actually be a disavantage. It's about beauty standards. I think it also covers a lot more issues that i don't remember rn.
Tbh i got emotional over this song after reading the lyrics. I thought it was so beautiful it was about a woman praising another woman in such a pure way.

I can't explain how i changed my mind. suddenly the prechorus/instrumental started to feel like a spiritual experience, and the chorus stopped being so freaking annoying and instead it started making so much sense.. it's a hype and chill song at the same time.
