lol. I mean a real fanfic written by a fan. Something you could read on some websites.

But isn't this a website? LOL I know what you mean, it's just that I mostly read Harry Potter FanFiction. As for KPop fanfics, I seldom read really good ones

I also read some EXO fanfics back in 2018 and honestly I shouldn't have been. Some of them shipped members together or they had the classic 10th member of EXO is a girl Y/N fanfics. Others were just, plain gross.
Not gonna lie, some were well written though but can people just use their writing talent to make a good book without the weird stuff? lol

Yes. I tried reading a few kpop fanfics when I first got into kpop. Gave up because how poorly written they are and how out of character everyone is.
I’m not sure if it’s because a lot of kpop fans are really young or a large portion of them don’t speak english as their first language but most kpop fanfics are really poorly written, even compared to other fanfics.
And yeah, they’re painfully out of character. It feels like the people writing them saw two pictures of the idol and then just started writing with no idea of their personality. All other fanfics I’ve read have been with fictional characters and it’s easier to keep them close to the original work than it is with real people I suppose.

I can tell just by looking at your threads

Oh yes, I have read tons after being introduced to them by a fellow user. Some of them I've grown to love and made my go-to stories, others I have read and left. I tried to finish them all and I usually hate when a story I like is left unfinished.
Personally, I think some of them are well-written and some need a little more work. Some are really interesting and some, well, not so much, but there is something in there for everybody.

I got into K-Pop fanfics a bit differently, but aside from that, all of this is true for me as well. There are some bad ones, and some good ones, you just have to know what you like and where to look for them.
