Does Youtube count towards CAK and PAK now?

  • Wow shes soooo pretty. I might have to go back to the visual thread and vote for her lmaooo

YT premium gives you access to YouTube Music which is similar to Apple Music, but sort of like Spotify (not premium) because it shuffles music you havent always listened to once you finish a playlist/album so i cant just listen to NWJNS on repeat unless i go and specifically choose the album over and over. It counts as a song stream but it also counts as a video stream if the video doesnt have a longer format. After a while most long format videos get linked to the song on YouTube Music, but for Attention it took like 4 days

You should! But I’m curious, how come you know Newjeans (your sig etc.) and not LSFM

Thank you for the rundown! The fact that they’ll start playing random songs makes me happy I got apple music. Must be annoying. You don’t have the option to put a song/album/playlist on repeat?

  • And new thought: isnt CAK different from PAK because its realtime instead of a week???? So YouTube means you can ONLY get a PAK now???

There is the very unlikely scenario that a song can get #1 on all charts except the instiz weekly, which would be CAK, but yes, for practically purposes CAK is pretty much the same as PAK these days because they count youtube as a daily chart even tho its a weekly chart.

Instiz chart has never made much sense, but it doesnt have any real relevance in any case so.

  • Yeah was added a few months ago. Remember that Still Life wasn’t able to achieve a PAK in the first week because it took forever for YT to update (only updates once a week and was like four days late)

It does suck if you miss it for a week, like newjeans just did.

The positive is that if you get #1 on YouTube, you have it for a whole week.

I wonder if we can pressure YT to do live updates.

People wanted YouTube in the charts, well there it is.

In theory it should not be hard to do.

Even if it is not YouTube, a 3rd party could figure out how to filter YouTube daily (or for 24 hours) then the I-chart could use that information for their chart.
