How did you find out about kpop?

Through Kdramas in 2011. Hallyu wave (mostly Kdramas like Playful Kiss and Boys Over Flower) was popular among a certain crowd of teenagers in my country at that time. I remember all the Lee Min Ho craze, omg the good old days. After watching Dream High i found out about kpop since some of the casts are kpop idols (IU, MissA's Suzy, 2PM's Taeyecon & Wooyoung, Tara's Eunjung, and JYP was in the drama too), the drama is about high school students becoming idols, and they also cover some kpop songs notably SNSD's Genie

2019 YT recommended me D4 right before KTL dropped

but it wasn't the first kpop song I heard - that was either GS or Nobody from Wonder Girls but the issue with nobody was that I didn't realise it was a kpop song at the time (I heard it playing DDR)

One terrible night when I was looking for books to read, I come across a blog that has a yt video of a loop gorup and decide to press play out of curiosity

Bad idea the rest is history
