true true but merely saying a person looks like someone else (even if that someone else is ugly) is not in of itself an insult (unless one is deliberately trying to insult you by exaggerating things)

idk guess it depends on how ugly they are. In the op it says we would both consider the idol ugly so to me just comes off as an insult but i guess it does depend
