Why is sm lying about Aespas demand?

  • Aespa has a show at the YouTube theatre in Los Angeles with 6000 capacity and demand was apparently so huge that a second date had to be added.

Despite all this supposed demand about half the tickets for the first night are still available and seats were lowered down to 3000. The second night still has not sold about 78 percent of the tickets and they're cheap as well.

Why did sm do this? Did they start believing their own hype?

    Approved the thread.
  • This is what I keep saying about SM. They are all about appearances. They never make any genuine attempts to enter the U.S market, no matter how many times people mention that their concepts aren't appealing to the U.S they just double down on it as they did with SuperM and then use gimmicks and inflation to make it look like they are successful and SM stans will eat it.

  • Because they are being resold?

  • Is this real? I think it will be sold out until near their show (?) so not exactly a problem. But SME is really going full media play in the west with Aespa.

  • It is near the show. They're performing in a few days on the 26th and 27th. Some tickets are going for as low as $25.

Ohh, I still think they will sell out everything. But the second day is half the capacity?

  • Yes. They sectioned off the other floors. So they're doing 9000 seats overall.

Great numbers, but reducing the capacity is a turn off. Just a one day would be already great.

  • Scalpers in the first date + short notice + no promo elsewhere outside aespa social media. Recession is coming US inflation data came out this week soared to highest level in 40 years much higher than everyone expected. US citizen are screwed they have other things to worry about than attending a showcase right now.

  • scalper issue is huge in kpop.

  • You can go look at the actual website and see that the only tickets available for the first date are “certified resale tickets.” These are scalper tickets, so the first show did sell out. Scalpers can set their own prices here, so the flood of scalper tickets can raise or lower the price as people shop around. People trying to get rich quick may price themselves out right away, then end up scrambling later, desperate to get some of the dollars back. This happens with lots of concerts. Experienced scalpers know to sell quickly when people are desperate and not trying to shop around logically.

The lowest price I see for seats through the Ticketmaster resale tickets is $45 for 2 tickets in the nosebleed seats or $50 for one. This is their face value.

The second show still has tickets available directly from Ticketmaster (ie not scalper seats). The lowest price ticket available there is $99.

    Ticket prices started at $45.

  • Ow, I thought they would be doing stadiums and arenas.

  • When it comes to the US with SM it’s like expectations vs. reality lol

But is this really true? Where’s the source?

  • Isn't that sm and their groups in general? why else would they buy tons of youtube ads, playlisting and gimmicks to inflate sales. They know these groups can't organically compete with the biggest

  • You or the person you took this from are making a lot of things up. There is no source or indication that mention seats were lowered down to 3000. If anything YT theater official states that they CAN expand the capacity to 6000, not that they originally default 6000 seats that SM “lowered it down”. Second, the first day was sold out immediately. I couldn’t get tickets when I was waiting even before they opened the sales. SM didn’t lie about the sold out part at all. Many companies lie or exaggerate about selling out when they sell 80% of the tickets but aespa’s showcase was 100% sold out that I couldn’t buy. However most of those buyers were scalpers. Hence it got messy. They resold tickets with insanely high prices some bought those expensive tickets but most fans refused to buy. Then they kept lowering their prices but many of the tickets are sold already.

Third, contrary to popular belief, I think the second day was necessary. I couldn’t trust to buy the tickets from resellers because I am not used to the process and I was afraid with all the warnings (besides I am not from US so I will go FOR the showcase) and the next day was an opportunity for me because it is trustworthy. They might not fill the second day but it was needed after all the resellers mess. If they do sell the second day too then that’s great. Everyone knows aespa’s popularity is centered in Asia, mostly Korea and China. Now even Japan with 400k people applying for the showcase. The fact that many people in L.A bought tickets was surprising to me because I underestimated their popularity there especially in a short notice.

All you do is sound pathetic trying so hard to paint aespa in a bad way when you go as far as keep up with their showcase updates (not tour but a fking showcase lol). SM isnt doing anything different from other companies. You are just obsessed with aespa.

  • Sm didn't fix the scalpers issue well

Excuses. Wait till BP holds a concert there, even with short notice.
