Do you ever feel like kpop fans put too much into stanning and maybe should take a step back? Like sometimes it feels like some stans get so angry or bitter or depressed by something going on in the kpop world and I just don't think it's healthy to let a hobby and these parasocial relationships affect you irl that much.
Do kpop stans get too emotionally invested in their faves?

they definitely do. they take kpop and fandom way too seriously and take all of it very personally, both the successes and the failures
maybe it's mostly an age thing though, something they'll grow out of as they get older
-
Yes. Just yes. WAY too invested.
-
I do admit that I get over-heated at times.
But it's what makes a k-pop stan after all.

Personally I think some fans get too involved with groups or their biases especially as they don't know them or have even met them. They need to get into the real world with real people imo. Some are just obsessed.

Some people get WAAYYY to invested.
I genuinely think it's mad the way people will throw away their morals and comment/say the most horrid things online. Like a study needs to be done on the mental state of people like this cos that's not normal behaviour lol
-
Yes, but that's why kpop groups are so successful and sell so many albums
-
Yes too much. honestly i think i'm ok but im not ready if something happens to my faves. I legit was very mad during the April situation
-
Absolutely.
-
yeah but it took me a whole year to realize that I'm too invested!!

Yes, I agree. I mean if you stan a group of course you'll get quite invested in them but when it gets close to the obsession, that's when it's too much for me. Some fans get way too attached and feel like they own the idols and can dictate them what to do, others will start fights online etc. Maybe it's a matter of age really.
I think that we have to remember that they're all idols and entertainers, not our friends, and we don't really know them. For me it's enough to be supportive, appreciate what they do and try to spread the love, but I try to avoid the drama. I admit, I used to be a bit too invested when I was younger and would get offended or defensive easily, but I guess I grew out of it.
