Is IVE next after BP and Twice in terms of global digitals?

    Approved the thread.
  • In my opinion, we have to wait, it's way to early to decide, Aespa hasn't made a comeback yet and nor has IVE gotten an album that isn't a single album.

But as a casual listener of IVE, blink, once and my I am really liking IVE's music so far.

  • There is a whole pack of girl groups who are close together - Aespa, IVE, Idle, StayC, potentially Billlie, Lesserrafim, NMixx, even Itzy could bob back up. Plus the YGNGG at some point.

@@@910c4b68-da42-4bc7-abcd-16b02c5b1a9f@@@ are past their peak. They don't have to be but SM shows no interest in pushing them. They're moving into legacy artist status like BoA.

But there is a big wall after Blackpink and Twice. Now every time a comeback does well fans are going to be announcing that their faves are about to "end" Blackpink. But they won't.

  • Is this a troll bait thread? IVE barely debuted and only have 2-4 songs out. Let's give it some more time, before ranking them.

Lately RV are behind Itzy, IVE, Aespa and maybe even Idle.

I would say so, their views are a little low overall, but their streams are great.

RV peaked at 8.2M monthly listeners which is a lot higher than IVE, ITZY and Aespa; we'll find out how high ITZY and Aespa will peak when they come back. On top of that, iirc as a recent Spotify article mentioned Red Velvet are the #3 most streamed k-pop girl group after Blackpink and TWICE.

Mamamoo has falled off the radar since last year though.

But we'll know how IVE compare with other groups when Aespa and ITZY have had their comebacks.

  • RV haves more streams and mls peak, FMR did good for them, but they always a hit or miss, so they are tied with IVE since they still rookies, but for now both are 3rd place

  • Currently yes, they are only behind BTS, BP and Twice on global charts. In fact in some charts they actually surpassed Twice.

On spotify they are also only behind Red Velvet besides the groups mentioned.

  • Maybe. A very distant 3rd place though

  • Itzy and aespa had years to catch up to Ive, but didn't lol. 5 month rookie surpassed them just like that.

  • people are delusional.

You think IVE really that popular? people only like Love Dive and that's it lol. Too early to say anything about their global digital when they only release 2 songs. Maybe they will free fall on chart on their digital when the comeback with shit song??

  • Why mods blocked my post? Anyway Itzy and aespa had years to reach Ive's current level but didnt. The only delusionals are the ones saying that it's too early to tell.

  • people are delusional.

I think people like I’ve music more than the actual group rn, their name brand isn’t on the same level as Itzy or aespa atm

But that will change soon with how well they are doing

  • Yeah but their Apple Music was terrible by comparison and after RV's initial first couple of weeks the song faded fast only last about 20 days on the charts for Spotify and their views and streams for their recent songs are below Itzy, Ive and Aespa.

ML's don't tell the full story, FMR is at 41m views and really starting to struggle. It's estimated to take almost a whole year to hit 100m views. Itzy, Aespa, Ive are all passing that mark and I know they used ad's but hers the thing so did Queendom and did overall worse on YT than those groups last comebacks too.

Their streams on Spotify are struggling too, no real evidence exist to back up the claim RV currently have stronger international digital than Ive, Itzy and Aespa as they simply don't.

Well, maybe if Starship actually give people more ive content, their name brand may increase?? With the success of Love Dive, Starship really just sitting there and doing nothing. :pepefacepalm::pepefacepalm:

They should flim a group variety show or go on some popular variety show like Knowing Bros as a group, Running Man or Amazing Saturday(I personally liked the show :pepe-toast: ) or even a Vlive is good, but the content drought is definitely not good.

This is the thing I don't understand, and it's not just for IVE either. Back in the day idols use to appear on TV and put out lots of reality shows all the time even when they weren't promoting a comeback. Nowadays after the two or so week of comeback is over, they disappear. Yeah, sometimes they might upload a pic on their IG or Twitter or something, but I am not among the people who consider that real content. If I wanted to stare at their faces, there are thousands of other pics and videos of them online.

  • You know global doesn’t just mean Asia right, majority of ives and other non bts and bp groups streams come from japan and sea.

So unless you fav is bts or bp don’t be delusional and call them GLOBAL

  • they are doing the best for sure. 2 back to back hits is a very good sign

i just think they need to do better with the bsides, but thats a problem of the whole generation tbh.

    Doesn't work like that.

K-pop has seen increasing numbers in both album sales and digitals with every passing year, where before 100-200k album sales and 5M monthly listeners were a threshold only 2-3 girl groups could pass barely 2 years ago, now lots of groups are achieving more.

Only when groups like Itzy and Aespa have their comeback, we'll learn what's the new standard for the top 4th gen groups has become in 2022 => since for those groups we can compare with their sales and digitals results from former years.
