I. Introduction

Hui is the leader, a main vocalist, lead dancer, and producer of Cube Entertainment's boy group Pentagon.

II. Career

Before debuting, he was a JYP trainee before joining Cube. He won the #1 spot on Best Male Vocal at JYP 7th Audition Final Round. He was initially planned to debut in China in 2013. However, he did not make the cut and placed at #60, which led to him leaving the show. He was part of an open audition in 2013 after leaving JYP. In this audition, he was the only participant to be chosen by all three entertainment companies (Cube, Sonic Music, and Nega Network). In December, Hui danced at the KBS Festival and was in a special stage with Son Dong-wwon and Kwon So-hyun.

In 2014, he made an appearance in G.NA's 'Secret' music video and promotional activities. He later made an appearance in Rain's 'Rain Effect'. Hui trained for approxiamately six years before debuting with Pentagon.

In February 2015, Hui was in a vocal project group, Seorin-dong Children, alongside now Pentagon member Jinho and another female vocalist. They were not planned to be the official group as they initially recorded the guide of the song, but Cube decided to release the guide as the official song.

Hui debuted with Pentagon on October 10, 2016 through Mnet's reality show 'Pentagon Maker', and he became the leader of the group. During this year, he made a cameo appearance on the web drama 'Spark'.

Hui debuted in co-ed project group Triple H on May 1 with their EP 199x alongside members HyunA and E'dawn (now known as Dawn).

Hui helped co-compose songs 'Never' from Produce 101 Season 2 and Wanna One's debut single 'Energetic'. These songs received all-kills on Instiz.

Hui debuted in project trot group Super Five under his real name Lee Hoe Taek. He auditioned for this group through MBC's 'Favorite Entertainment', which was a music variety program that aimed to create a top trot boy group. He was chosen along with Astro's MJ, Ok Jin-wook, A.cian's Chu Hyeok-jun, and Park Hyeong-seok. The group debuted on August 22 with their songs 'All Eyes On Me' and 'Hello' on MBC's Show! Music Core. They held their final concert on September 19 'Hello, goodbye concert' before disbanding.

Hui has his musical debut on August 15 with 'Sonata of a Flame'.

Hui enlisted for the military as a social worker on February 18, 2021.
