Ok… looks like you got a 24 hour ban. Our news team asked you to stop submitting fake news articles and you continued to submit it. That clogs up the workflow and therefore you received a 24 hour ban.

any user that isn't active for the last 6 months should have their akorns deducted by 50% per week there on after
there could be some exclusive badges up for prize instead of up for sale
meaning the only way to get those limited exclusive badges is by winning the prize
you can get a user in the draw for X amount of akorns, users can pay more akorns to increase chance of winning
pick a day for the draw and done
use something like https://wheelofnames.com/ to determine the winner
seeing as how the current limited badges are 1000 akorns to buy
I'd say at least 100 akorns to get in the draw is not that expensive.
of course when it's limited and exclusive it should mean there is only one user that get to have that badge in the entire forum
it will make throwing away 100 akorns on a lucky draw somewhat worth it
you can do that for exclusive aesthetics on avatar borders too

this won't really deflate the ultra-rich (although with the prospect of bagging an album or akorn prize with the lowly cost of one ticket--)
but like what if we bought raffle tickets for 11 akorns, and like 5 akorns were burned and the other 6 were put into the prize pool.
also for the grand prize, it'd probably be an album or some other merch.
or even better do it like the lotto where ppl have to guess a sequence of numbers.

Imo there are systems of in-[system] currency (in app, in game, etc) that allow for however many units of money to exist but the shop will adjust the price to reflect inflation or deflation.

These are all valid points that we have already considered. Obviously % based fees make more sense, but there are limitations within the current system. The issue is the akorn system is a 3rd party plugin, so we can’t go in and make changes and create new functionality because it would break things when future updates are released.
We are limited with the current functionality of the plugin. Therefore things that don’t make sense are sometimes implemented because there is no choice and its usually the lowest common denominator.

Yeah, honestly the akorn transfer fee wasn't a terrible idea as much as it pains me to say. People really should be posting more instead of getting akorns from others. It's one thing to transfer to a guild for guild expenses, but users who want badges should post to earn them
Yes. The other solution is disable transfers completely, but that would spark outrage too 🤪

because an album is pretty much 30euros here
and when i bought the signed TTS album on the Akorn shop i had to spend 50euros
so actually the forum would do a profit of 20e for each album people would buy

That isn’t cheap. Especially now. Shipping anywhere out of the states is at least $20-30 usd even for light items. On top of that, many of the purchases are from users who accrued akorns by just posting and activities.
Typically, any merch we put up is a loss and just a service for the community, but these forums aren’t about profit in the first place.

We have read thru all your feedback and will be halting all changes to akorns.
Everything will remain the same for the time being until we have more time to review and reconsider all options.
Although change is something most people hate, our overall goal is to create a better experience and purpose for akorns within the community. This will remain a priority as we reconsider options.
I recognize badges aren’t enough to create value for akorns, therefore we are discussing other valuable items, as well as considering the scarcity of the currency. That was the initial thought process behind the proposed changes. Like I said previously, somethings will work, something won’t. But we will keep trying.

Due to the growth of the Lexicon, we were noticing slow performance.
I've tweaked the method in which content is listed within categories, which should improve performance.
We will continue to make adjustments to try to further improve performance, but let us know if the changes are noticeable or if you are having any issues.
