They're the only group in which the individual members, namely Lisa and Jennie, are bigger than the group itself. Those two have outgrown the company to the point where YGE can't provide for them when it comes to anything outside the Blackpink name. If Lisa and Jennie can score bigger opportunities for themselves, being tied to YGE would just limit their solo careers' potential, including their earning potential.
From what it looks like, they're happy with where they are as a group, so Blackpink activities will continue under YGE's management even if the members sign elsewhere. Nothing indicates they're upset with YGE. A lot of Blinks just love to project their feelings and emotions onto the members, which is understandable but not rooted in reality.

And Psy owned his own name, copyrights, and concepts long before he signed with YG. If YGE didn’t think they would make money from the existing BP IP, they would transfer ownership.
