So far, BP compose NONE of the Groups music NOR do they decide what music they will be doing......
HOWEVER....
Teddy Park is the best Composer at YGE so the ONLY drop in quality is if YGE don't have a Composer at his level giving BP songs.

What these 2 songs have in common is that they were either written or co-produced by a Duo called LYRE which of course are the ones that pitched the song to JYP

Also for those that aren't aware of the process at JYPE, it is typical that they buy songs or even a part of a song then get JYP Publishing to work on the rest. JYPark is usually just used as a name to "promote" the song although he probably does contribute some part

Gallup is the next best thing. Spring day keeps being mentioned even though it is 4 years old with the biggest unique listeners from an idol group on melon. A national hit should be a very well known song not an initial hype.
How can Cheer up be a national hit over Spring day when less people have heard that song compared to Spring Day, and it also popping up in gallup in its later years
Just to put Cheer Up into perspective....
In a hundred years, Cheer Up will be taught at South Korean Schools as part of the Music Classes
-
That's my point. It was worth more than a throw away pre-release they perform on the occasional show. That's my own opinion though.
-
i think it's a great showcase - it's probably so that they can get some exposure to collab with a group in the US.
Itzy is JYPE's main focus in the West, TWICE would been doing more in Japan had it not been for COVID-19
While JYPE does have interest for TWICE in the West, they largely use Interviews and Appearances to promote Concerts they have in the region because TWICE's Title Songs are generally not West friendly -
The MV and the chorus are definitely Retro, then again TWICE's MVs do have a Retro Element to them
-
As strange as it is, a little happy Cry For Me era is not fully over. Still don't understand what JYPE was thinking burying such a great song.
JYPE didn't though because it was supposed to be a Song for their next Korean Comeback, it's a Pre-Release
:P
Although they have milked it largely due to demands from fans :) -
Music Charts are a stepping stone for a National Hit, but Music Charts don't define them.
I have proven it to be possible with Cheer Up, so you prove it
-
So why aren't all BTS titles in the top 50 then? Since their fanbase is so powerful to just mass stream them they should never drop out, but they do, why is that? Is it....cause BTS is the most gp relevant idol group as shown by their brand rep, gallup placement, etc?? I'll wait for you to come up with a good response.
BTS currently have 790k+ Subscribers on Melon as of today which is the largest subscriber compared to TWICE that has 216k.
If you look at the Fan mentality for Boy Groups, they will stream ALL the B Sides from the comeback and songs from earlier albums which reappear in the Top 100 Charts, as this is not just limited to BTS and they will stream them for a very long time just to beat records.Compared to GG fans where only a few of their current B Sides are streamed to the degree of getting into the Top 100
The fact is, BTS has the subscribers on Melon to continually stream their Songs all year around especially when they are trying to go for a record.
We have seen with Nilo and Sean that if you get enough interest in a Song and you have high profile Idols making a comeback that you can beat them which is what happened during BTS and TWICE's comebacks. Then again, BTS didn't have near the Melon Subscribers that they have now.
So here's the point....
The use of the words "general public" is incorrect because it basically eliminates around 90% of the Korean General Public rather the correct way to use the word is the songs impact outside of Music Charts. So an example of a National Hit Song is TWICE's Cheer Up
TWICE's Cheer Up in Korean Music Text Books, used by 2 Political Parties as a Theme Song and helped TWICE become a Nation's Girl GroupThe question I ask you is..... which BTS song qualifies as a National Hit where you can't use any Music Chart to prove your point
-
Yes, thats it exactly - kpop fans hate to admite BTS have the biggest hit songs of the 3rd gen lol - its just pathetic at this point
Has a BTS song
* Become a Song in a Korean National School Text Book for Music?
* Topped every Major Music Digital Yearly Chart
* Turned BTS into a Nation's Group (not National Group, that's easy to get)
-
-
Cheer Up topped all the Major End of Year Music Charts when it was released in April 2016
You mentioned Spring Day, which ranked lower than TWICE's Knock Knock for end of year charts for 2017
So the point here is..... Spring Day isn't a National HIt, like ALL of BTS's songs they are fan made hits
-
They probably already noticed, it's their staff there.
Ultimately it's the fans who should learn to behave and respect safety measures
I agree, some fans are quick to blame the company rather than take responsibility for their own actions
-
I see a lot of BS from fans tagging Protect TWICE as an attack on JYP but they ignore a fact that some fans are more messed up than ANTIs.
Think about it for a moment, the last people you should be protecting TWICE from is their own fans

Sorry but this is Royal Family

A classic song
Yep and basically the format for Female Dance Tracks where you have the Rap and "lullaby/high note" bridges.
But more important is that there isn't a single Solo Female Singer of this era that has a MV as diverse that song.....
Anyway I'm not sure if that's Ha Jiwon in the MV but I know she appeared at a Live stage

Yep I remember Oppa
