Perfect night didn’t achieve a PAK. It didn’t even achieve a RAK
either way it was one of the strongest songs last year on the charts

Display MoreWhat? Perfect Night was one of the most promoted songs of the year.
It was literally in Overwatch as part of a LSF/OW collaboration.
You couldn't do anything in the game without hearing the song

thats decent promo for overwatch players but doesnt do much for the korean general public. almost all CF/video game songs do nothing on the charts. even newjeans had a whole league of legends (much more popular than overwatch) collab song and it didnt really do much at all. perfect night had no teasers, music show promos, variety until after it blew up.
that mamamoo song probably had a little less promo but it also only very briefly charted well back when the charts were much kinder to new releases. safe to say perfect night finishing the year with one of the highest digital points for all songs is more impressive.
Display MoreThe feat alone was enough of a flex
Name a single girl group that could pull that off.
Today, only NewJeans could do it, I'd wager.
It's kind of ironic this advice is
Lesserafim? Perfect night was an unpromoted non album song that got PAK
Display MoreBLACKPINK are accomplished in the U.S., but their records aren't untouchable. NewJeans has matched or surpassed many of them, and the girl group with the highest peak in the U.S. isn't BLACKPINK either; it's Fifty Fifty.
Their touring is very impressive, but Twice isn't THAT far behind.
And I'm not debating their overall popularity, so I don't know why people bring up how both groups perform today
I'm comparing PEAK Twice, who got PAKs at will and had 9 straight #1 songs while selling the most albums by far, trending every week to peak BLACKPINK
I'm not saying BP is an invalid answer, but people are really dismissing how powerful peak Twice was.
A lot of people say "global" when they just mean the U.S., because if you actually look at it globally, Twice at their peaks were dominant in several countries.
What would you even define as global success for BLACKPINK? Statistically I mean.
you mostly only hear about US numbers and achievements because its the biggest music market but it wasnt only the US where bp was bigger. bp was the first girl group to reach the main music charts of several countries. in the majority of countries bp were getting 2 to 3x more streams in a single calendar year compared to twice even with less releases. twice actually did kinda decently with US streams compared to a lot of other countries where the gap with bp was much bigger.
also the touring numbers weren't as close as you might think. born pink total gross was $331M whereas ready to be was $170M. not really what I would call close.
Well, they're not real soloists. A real soloist is like IU, Ailee and others who were never part of a group.
I only count Taeyeon as a soloist because SNSD is not active anymore, and she's proved herself as one of the biggest soloists in Korea for a decade. IF your gals can do just half what Taeyeon did, I will say the same about them.
Yeah whatever. You just made it sound even more impressive. BP members just effortlessly smashed a lot of the solo records without even being real soloists. Really cool
Blackpink members dominating without even being real soloists according to David
Omg Wow!
hwayoung was probably beaten mercilessly that day
what did he do again? i forgot

so these aged bad.
you said the MAMA predictions were bad but they're usually pretty accurate. most of the criteria for MAMA's awards just use objective numbers.
IU just didnt have good album sales and despite having more "PAKs" LWA has less digital points than supernova and several other songs. PAK hours isnt the best way to measure song popularity. maybe there just wasn't much competition on the charts when LWA was released. LWA had a 4 month head start over supernova, the fact that supernova has more digital points means supernova was way stronger on the charts.
love these covers. she looks best like this in my opinion

Jimin of BTS continues to showcase his exceptional popularity on Spotify Korea. On November 15th, Jimin topped Spotify Korea’s Weekly Top Artist chart, marking his 70th time at number one. This makes him the first and only artist to achieve this milestone.
Additionally, Jimin has held the top spot on Spotify Korea’s Daily Top Artist chart for the 478th time, continually extending his record for the most days at number one on this chart.
Jimin’s solo second album 'MUSE' and its title track “Who” have also shown remarkable staying power. Despite no official promotional activities, the track debuted at number one on Spotify Korea’s Daily Top Songs chart upon its release on July 19th and has maintained the top spot for 120 consecutive days as of November 15th.
His previous title track, “Like Crazy” from his first solo album 'FACE,' holds the record for the most days at number one on the chart, with 268 days. With “Who” now at 120 days, Jimin has secured both the top two longest-running number-one tracks on the chart.
Jimin has amassed a total of 424 cumulative number-one days on Spotify Korea’s Daily Top Songs chart, further solidifying his record as the artist with the most number-one days.
He also set the highest single-day streaming record (360,000 streams) and the highest weekly streaming record (2.39 million streams) for “Who” on Spotify Korea. Notably, Spotify's chart counting system excludes streams from repeated loops, ensuring accuracy.
Jimin’s “Like Crazy” holds the record for the most streams on Spotify Korea, surpassing 42 million streams—the only song on the chart to cross 40 million. With “Who” reaching 31 million streams, Jimin becomes the first and only artist to have two songs surpass 30 million streams on Spotify Korea.
On the global stage, Jimin continues to shine as a representative K-pop artist. His “Like Crazy” recently surpassed 1.3 billion cumulative streams on Spotify globally, while “Who” crossed the 1 billion mark, further cementing his influence.
How can he do so well in Spotify South Korea while not charting well on Korea's main charts? All of this just raises more questions
going to tell my kids this was xg
