i have no data to back up this theory but to me they are in the same place as le sserafim. super hyped group running on a couple of super successful songs/comebacks that end up releasing music that feels so out of place and awkward, making the group seem suddenly disappointing.
idk if you can restart the momentum cause i’m new to this but the b-sides are still good. the ive magic is still there. if baddie and unforgiven had not been the TTs the groups would’ve been less fragile in the minds of the public. even if ive is doing good rn with either way and le sserafim had epbw, the lack of momentum puts them at a slight disadvantage going into future comebacks
baddie isn’t chasing the trend in SK, but kpop groups seem to think sexy badass is what the west are into. like g idle doing heat
baddie is so so bad, but i think they were hoping for kitsch but better because it’s a tt this time. kitsch was also awful but the energy felt way better. baddie feels so tired, it’s not even girl crush it’s like the feeling of taking selfies alone on a friday night, trying to hype yourself up but hating the final pictures.
i wish the fandom would talk less about charting. i don’t want them to be a charting phenomenon only, and it might influence them to make more chart friendly music
holy shit, the most important thing for a group shouldn’t be charting it should be building a stable following through beloved b sides. do it big group style. baddie is the only song that is unlistenable from the album and holy moly is great enough to keep listening to them. they should become an album gg
i want her to kill me so bad
i thought y’all were calling her a lesbian
i don’t think i even understand the point of the mixx concept. like who gets interested in a group where the hook is that they completely change the vibes when you were just starting to enjoy it.
why not just do like a horror group or a fairy group or a fantasy group why kpop always gotta make it so complicated
She had some of the best lines in Gods at least
That "brief moment of silence" line? The delivery was perfect.
I actually thought that song may have suited her vocals the most
she does so good in darker concepts, eta, gods, ditto, get up. i think all suit her tone and her atmosphere. sadly i think the [brief, brief] part was hanni cause it doesn’t really sound like her
i need to do a thread to put some respect on her name/visuals cause even though she’s the number one ranked brand whatever it’s called, she doesn’t get too much hype
that’s my bias right there! ador doesn’t give her many lines but she still shines anyway
back to ive lol if anyone is still reading for them. i really like the vibe of these songs but their biggest problem is that their vocals just cannot fill in the gaps that they need. imagine these songs sung by a top vocal group, aespa, rv, or even just by the best (2/3) singers in the group and i think it would do way better
wow, that was a really boring way to approach this song. i want them to succeed but the music gets harder n harder to defend
Oooh i can’t wait! I wasn’t interested in them at all until this last mini album so i hope it’s more like that and Better Things
What's the "bratty" direction?
i don’t think i have the right vocab but bratty was my favorite Itzy release, I just enjoyed how it focused less on choruses and verses. the vocals were overlapping and chill, the beats were multilayered…
like it kinda reminded me of some red velvet songs.
idk I’m just kinda sick of verse chorus verse formats that focus on let’s hand off the mic style singing
