I probably live in a reality where I don't have to mock you for having a different opinion over your fave.
I like both of them, I just don't discount how massive IVE are in Korea or the East in general. They are more popular in Japan, in fact pretty impressively, also very popular in Phillippines. IVE isn't targeting the west which is a notable difference. But lets not also pretend IVE haven't hit the Billboard charts either. I also think people here forget how popular Wonyoung and Yujin are in Korea.

IVE aren’t winning in Japan by a wide margin, NewJeans have been doing very well in Japan (especially digitally) and without a Japanese member.
NewJeans are pretty huge in East Asia too (the difference is they’re globally popular too, especially in the US)
IVE are doing exceptionally well but overall they’re not bigger than NewJeans as a group. I’d place them in #2.
The only valid point here is Wonyoung is more well known in Korea which is true.
Wonyoung is more popular than any NewJeans member in Korea.
