i mean how exactly does that work tho? are you saying that you’re fine with nj as long as they don’t win stuff (like last year), but as soon as they do win not by asserting big company privilege but by being smart and playing the system aka. sth that anyone can do, not just big companies, then you’ll call out their win solely for the reason that they’re from a big company and thus as a player they must be hated by default? even if they won by means not pertaining to big company privilege? Bc even with the hybe privilege label attached to them nj still didn’t win shit last year lol and when they do win this year it’ll be bc their team is smart and took matters in their own hands, not bc they abused big company privilege, at least where we can see it, so again i’m not sure how the paradox works.. 🤔

you know what they say, don’t hate the players, hate the game. nj’s team saw how it went regarding major award shows’ criteria in deciding the winners and they played it exactly how the system wants them to if they’re serious about securing the bag this year. you can’t fault them for being smart and maximising their chances with the perfect release timing especially after they were fucked over last year also by (unfortunate) timing lol. Heck, nj - the undisputed most explosive new group on the scene maybe ever - was the only rookie gg not receiving an award at mama bc they were the only group not having 2 releases last year to reach the 1m sales threshold for that rookie award that mama pulled out of their arse as an excuse to give kepler an award 😭 all grievances should be directed at those award shows and their methodology, not at the players all just trying to follow the game

Putting NJs aside, actually last year's competition was between Love Dive and Tomboy, and Tomboy was released earlier but Love Dive overtook.
But this year, Ditto is way ahead and released many more months earlier, for I AM to take over they need to not only be consistent, but they also need Ditto to flop which I don't see it happening.
The TLDR is basically, to win just release your songs earlier (Ditto), or if you choose to release your song later, make sure there are no digital giants before you (IVE/(G)I-DLE)
the fact that none of nj’s songs was even in the running for soty awards despite attention and hype boy’s explosive performances right out the gate (which is their advantage over both tomboy and love dive within the same release period) is precisely that user’s point that you didn’t get. The only reason nj’s songs were excluded was bc they were released 4 months after love dive/tomboy and had no chance of catching up before award season - similar to how i am was released 4 months after ditto and had no chance of catching up before award season. That similarity, hence “fairness” in nj winning this year after ive won last year, is their point. Love dive had less of a time lag with tomboy which helped it catch up in time before awards season

for inkigayo you can always win more trophies as long as you haven’t exceededed trophy number 3 for that song (triple crown). That’s why brave girls could still win for rolling despite it being a 4-yo song at the time, and also why queencard isn’t eligible to win more this week despite it still getting paks (it’s already got its triple crown)

These idols are approaching this show all wrong. The real objective should be placed on delivering the best performances of their life and creating the most likable personas they possibly can on camera in order to grab fans from people watching the show. Winning queendom in any season literally means nothing bc the prize has always been a joke and would do nothing to further their career. I mean if they just want a trophy to put on their shelf then by all means do whatever it takes, but if they’re smart they should see that the real winners aren’t who get to lift the trophy but who gained the most fans and/or good press from this show. This is not produce, not even girls planet, there’s literally no incentive to be the final winner with the most votes. This is the one opportunity for these idols to curate an image for themselves and present it to kpop casuals who initially didn’t even know them, and the right approach should be appearing to be as magnanimous and fun-loving and likable as possible. They should just enjoy the show and make friends with every contestant and appear encouraging towards all of them for the camera even if they actually secretly can’t stand them lol instead of plotting petty strategies for personal gains that ultimately won’t accomplish much in the big picture. Downvoting everyone and even worse, proudly claiming so up front while being interviewed, is not a smart strategy at all
