never said you can’t do whatever you want. just don’t be surprised by the backlash or act offended by unwanted responses that are naturally invited lol ❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you think she’s better than every other idol then don’t be offended when people come in to disagree. You’re not the only one allowed to have an opinion, and this is an open forum, not an echo chamber Someone simply saying that they think another idol is a better performer in their opinion (while not insulting jennie) isn’t “mud slinging”, and you’d have to be a certain breed of kpop stans to take offense to it all while expecting them not to take offense when you do the same thing the other way around lmao
it just felt like a vibe killer for an obvious appreciation thread to me lol
Well yeah which circles back to my initial point from that other thread lol. There’ve been countless appreciation threads made before on akp and there’s almost never any fuss about them, yet only that one thread attracted so many disagreeing posts, wonder why Surely the way op worded their thread and title had nothing to do with that
Saying someone is the best at the industry doesn't put down other artists
That’s exactly the point. If it’s not an insult to jennie to say for eg rose is actually the best, then why did you and some people take offense when other people come to a thread that claims “jennie is the absolute best” in the most aggressive way to say no they don’t agree bc they think it’s rose?
Tbf I couldn’t really find the correct words to describe what i meant and “put down” doesn’t really cut it, but i gave up trying to find the right words lol
This is what an actual sensationalist baiting title looks like whippetthedog
let’s humour you and assume the op of that earlier thread didn’t know what a title like that would do, shall we? so they think jennie is the best right? then why would they or you take offense when other people think some other idols are actually the best, and come to that thread to say it? is that user the only one allowed to have an opinion, and as long as their opinion is masked by the tag “appreciation thread” with a title that puts down every other idol in existence like that, no one is allowed to rebuke it? but yeah, they didn’t have any purpose to bait responses from people disagreeing when they made that aggressive absolutist thread title at all lol. next time if they don’t want people who have different opinions to come and yet still want to use a title like that, put a disclaimer like “my opinion about the best idol is absolute and no one is allowed to disagree” in the thread, so that certain people’s sensibilities won’t be offended that an “appreciation thread” didn’t turn out the way they want lol
only on akp do appreciation posts turn out like this lol
nah normal appreciation threads are always left alone. it’s only when threads are made with sensationalist absolutist titles like “she’s better than every other idol” that naturally invites people who disagree to chime in that it can get ugly, and the thread’s op is not innocent in instigating / contributing to that. if op had just said “jennie is one of the best” no one would’ve cared lol. the problem isn’t the appreciation, it’s the rage baiting
dictionaries are free nowadays 💅
You’re killing it these days with these strident egregious takes 🤔
i don't know if it's comparable but PSY got peaked at #2 and remain for 15 weeks at hot 100. PSY also didn't set any targeted promo towards US listeners. Can anyone explain this?
gangname style ranged on charts bc the video and horse-riding dance went viral as a meme, not bc people outside the kpop sphere actually cared about psy or was tuning in for him. it blew up not bc of promo, and without it going viral worldwide no amount of us promo alone could’ve got it its success anyway
Yep, it's fashion events, outfits should be fun. I'm aware that there's nothing special about hwasa's styling but it suits her well.
Why was hyein styled like that, with her figure she could have worn anything, and she ended up wearing the most boring clothes. She should have worn something fun and youthful like eunchae
yeah monochrome palettes on clothes are a double-edged sword bc they rarely look terrible but also rarely have enough wow factor for fashion events. hwasa’s is definitely the best amongst the black and white outfits. she wears it well and it has enough flare in the details while still being classy and chic. great styling
hyein’s outfit was such a missed opportunity lol i can write paragraphs to complain about it but i’ll spare yall 😂
They are they are lbr
Booo go to sleep dad
Bullying is a serious issue in South Korea. Simplifying down to them just wanting to jump off because mommy said no it’s dumb asf also. I doubt it’s the parents causing such a strong emotional reaction they want to fucking die. Its the children there age mocking and bullying anyone that doesn’t have these luxury goods.
The article even quotes:
“Appearance and financial success can resonate more with consumers in South Korea than in most other countries,” analysts wrote in the report. Showcasing the reason behind why they are buying these bags stem from wanting to conform to the collective value they hold. That’s a cultural issue not solely parents fault.
and how much responsibilities do you think parents hold when their children subject themselves to be bullying victims, zero? that these kids have completely lost trust in the adults and authoritative figures in their life to the point that they’d rather continue being bullied than speaking up? that they hadn’t been equipped with preventive and defensive measures taught by their parents in the case they get bullied? do these kids’ parents shoulder zero percent of the blame in these situations in your mind, or what?
In case you couldn’t tell i absolutely think that people have failed as parents if their kids turn out to have been bullying victims. And make no mistake, i’m not victim-blaming the child. And it applies in every single country and environment, korea or otherwise. Just bc korea is notorious for its “culture” of bullying doesn’t mean korean parents get absolved of their responsibilities. Society has failed these kids, and so have their parents. End of
