At most they would be another act, mostly pandering to its existing fanbase, about 1/8 of its former self.
But you could also argue that other groups only gaining popularity after bts enlists shows how little impact they had to begin with.
BTS have always wanted to enlist since it’s a mandatory service . That’s where these conclusions should end imo. As for Govt wanting to use them for the bid even after their enlistment, it’s just very sad. They have thrown BTS under the bus for their selfish purposes many times. BTS never said they want exemption.
im not saying they wouldnt have enlisted anyway, i just mean that if the government was going to constantly use them like this, wouldnt it make more sense if they at least gave them an option because without it, it feels very fake and manipulative in the sense that they just use bts for whatever is gonna help them get further.
They waited for over three years saying they hadnt yet made a decision on enlistment, and still when bts decides for themselves to enlist in the military, the government is continuing to use them for their own benefit. They are so focused on their Expo Bid. If they wanted to use bts for these reasons couldnt they have exempted them from service or at least given them an alternate option??

I never said I was a success stan, I was clearly saying that you shouldn't get on kpop stans as a whole for not knowing who a soloist was strictly for the reason that they were high on charts. International fans are a huge part of the kpop fandom so just because they're popular in Korea doesn't mean everyone has to know them. Yes I do like a good bit of popular groups but i wouldnt drop a group for the one fact that they were presumed as "flops". You can like certain artists, just don't get mad when someone else doesn't know who they are.
Just bc shes charting "against bts" doesnt mean she's anywhere close to their level of success. Its literally not even about ignoring acts who "dont meet their definition of success" its just nobody knows who they are.
