Since the explosion of Kpop outside of East Asia companies have been trying so hard to shake the idol image and push more into making their groups more like generic pop acts and that rode the wave and now we are seeing it crash because the majority of newer groups lack identity and the genre itself has no real substance or uniqueness anymore.
It's just Korean pop groups playing essentially US pop music.
It feels like they are trying to shake everything that makes it an "idol" industry and just make it a basic, western pop industry with a bit of Korean lyrics thrown in.
It's always been a campy, cheesy genre and a sort of little isolated unique Korean entertainment quirk that blew up by almost luck and as a result, I think it lost most of its identity so a lot of fans who aren't teens are like me. They follow one group they've been with for years and bounce when that group calls it a day.

JYP has no respect for GGs and should stop debuting them altogether.
Money hungry company that is floundering from shit idea to shit idea. Putting every bit of promo into their BG and milking other groups.
They should honestly move Jonyoung out of his active role on the company and re structure their entire creative department and completely remove the division system that fully failed and maybe, just maybe become a relevant company again outside of 2 single fandoms.

How many times does it have to be said before JYPE and the 7 VCHA fans understand something everyone else already knew a year ago. There is and never will be a market for a non Korean Kpop group, certainly not a non EA idol group.

Last year alone I probably topped 4k and I've been standing for years. If you buy VIP concert tickets the money starts to add up quick.
I bought 5 VIP packs last year and that was over 2600 Euro alone. Take into account travel expenses, merch, etc.
Plus I own almost all of their Japan albums and all of their Korean albums which is like 2 grand or more already with versions, limited editions, vinyls, shipping, import duties, etc.
I would estimate with concerts, albums, merch, memberships, etc I would have topped 10,500 roughly on Twice.

A lot of Korean media outlets have referred to several groups as 5th generation and that's exactly the reasoning 4th gen stans used to define their faves as new generation groups.
I mean several groups called forth gen released songs as early as 2017. So it been 6-7 years. 4th gen acts are starting their contract renewal phase and soon several BG members will start the enlistment process next.
It's probably safe to say the 5th gen is starting

Idols are NOT their managers' bosses (the clue is in the job title) and can't treat them like slaves just because it would be convenient for your warped narrative.
