That time when every song on the top 10 of melon was from a hybe artist should have made it clear for everybody, seventeen charting improving exponentially the moment bts went to the military and hybe was lacking a flagship boy group too. Just another reason why kcharts are meaningless in this period of time.

Well folks it feels so good to be back, so let's start again.
When I say newjeans flopped internationally I mean mostly spotify, we can pretty much ignore everything else, those itunes #1 are pointless, nobody cares or remember the apple music charting and youtube views have become so shaky we may need to take a time to reconsider them, spotify numbers is the main event and for the most part the only one that matters.
So let's make this clear: any song in the 100M of streams mark for me has done well, for kpop that's a good number of streams and partially a hit, it could be better but it's okay, 200M is good, you will find lot of songs you consider hits in that area. 300M range is excellent and going further than 400M outside the heavy hitters on streaming, bts and blackpink, isn't something common on this genre. A song in the 50M-100M range has underperformed for me, it could be worse but those numbers are not good even for a small industry like kpop.
So taking that into account, these are newjeans 4 singles results in the 3 and half months after release:
How Sweet: 108M
Supernatural: 69M
Bubblegum: 59M
Right Now: 28M
Everybody here knows the story, newjeans debuted and took kpop by storm, rapidly raising to the Olympus, all their main singles were certified 500M heavy hitters, an amazing number for kpop groups on spotify since barely a handful of kpop acts can go beyond that in the platform with their biggest hits. Barely months after it was normal for them to hit 500M we see their singles struggling to cross the 100M mark and some of them still at 20M months after release, this downfall is truly generational and unbelievable.
Ok, How sweet is more or less doing fine, it my hit the 200M mark in 1 year, and hey we could say it was a decent hit on spotify but results like these after releasing songs like omg that is at 700M of streams not even 2 years after release is a change you need to witness with your own eyes to believe it. Only 1 out of 4 singles doing decently is crazy, those songs have flopped so bad that newjeans fans are trying to rewrite history and pretend they are not 2 double singles like Ador announced it, they are treating bubblegum and right now as bsides lol, right now is so flop that is doesn't even have a wikipedia page, a single that achieve so little it doesn't deserve a page there.
And reality for the newjeans clowns their charting on south korea can't and will never make up for this downfall at the international stage, no newjeans are not the industry leaders anymore and they are not ahead of their rival girl groups like you want to still believe, wake up to reality, is 2024 not 2022-2023 when hybe was putting all their money, resources and connections on the hand of mhj to make them stomp on the competence and "beat aespa" like bsh wanted.

I realize your entire personality and gimmick here is to make awful takes that backfire within a week and then coping with cringe ass blatantly false narratives about NewJeans, but the act is starting to get as stale as Twice's title tracks.
NewJeans are the clear industry leaders and it's not particularly close.
They're the top girl group on Spotify. They're the top girl group on MelOn. They're the top artist on Circle Digital Index. They're by far the top girl group on every Japanese digital platform.
They've had multiple HUGE hit songs, easily the biggest of this era of K-Pop.
Babymonster have done nothing to warrant comparison to IVE, aespa, LSF or GIDLE, let alone NewJeans.
Know your place and learn theirs
My dude the word you are seeking is WAS not ARE, newjeans were ahead of their peers last year when hybe was giving them the sweetest payola their money and connections could buy, in the big year of 2024 they don't even have the a song in the top 5 most streamed on spotify in the girl group category, aespa, illit and lesserafim results on 2024 wipe the floor with them, and you can cry and delude yourself forever, nobody gives a damn about your cries.
They are only top on any of those platforms with their residuals from their pre 2024 releases, a further proof of their massive downfall, it will be hilarious on 2025 watching you and the newjeans fans doing mental gymnastics with whatever results those girls get.
And stale will still be a better result than newjeans career going downhill, hybe accustumed them to hit 500M-600M esily with their singles and they are now struggling to surpass 100M with singles flopping as bad as right now with 20M after months, njs career is on the toilet, no attempt of drag will land while that is happening.

2 billboard hot 100 entries for le sserafim this year and 0 for newjeans is honestly the most hilarious outcome of this hybe and mhj thing, illit will also have another one in october leaving njs as the only hybe girl group that can't chart their singles on the US. Crazy how newjeans hot 100 charting only lasted 6 months, from ditto to super shy, I want to see for how long can hybe maintain lesserafim and illit entries.

haters will say whatever they have to but truth is babymonster is quite a popular group, just not so much in KR compared to 4th gen groups.

I think everyone agree babymonster is popular, a nice competence to the rest of girl groups of newer generations by results but everyone criticizes that success come from yg huge overwork with them on streaming specially with the absurd amount of ads, so their standing is shaky, if yg stops giving them that they would succumb faster and worse than newjeans did when hybe did that to them, so far they need to prove their popularity goes beyond their company money, and it will be hard for so many factors specially the massive competence there is now.

If hybe puts the resources on it of course, the only reason newjeans reached whatever high point in their career was because of those same hybe resources in combination with some other factors but hybe was the biggest part of it, once hybe cut the flow newjeans career shattered like a castle of glass. Any group who get the same from hybe will achieve just as much as newjeans, magnetic is the biggest group song of the year by a huge margin, almost bigger than anything njs released and this is just their debut, it destroyed newjeans on spotify japan so hard I can barely believe it.
So is just a matter of how much hybe puts their money on it, all other things you mentioned are mostly irrelevant.

Now lesserafim is 70k away from surpassing supernatural 1st week sales and 230k of how sweet, it will be fucking hilarious if in the end they outsell any of newjeans latest albums or both after all the shit tokkis said this week.
