No matter what anyone says, she shouldn’t have said it. We can only hope she learns from this and doesn’t repeat her mistake.
On a similar note, this is such a recurring problem not only in kpop but everywhere. Cultural sensitivity is important, but I’m guessing artists and companies won’t take it seriously or even know of it at all if people don’t actually hold them accountable instead of “cancelling” them on Twitter for a day.
I love a lot of their songs but hate a lot of them too. I know a lot of people like how diverse their discography are is in terms of stanning them it can be a bit hard for people to “commit” to a group that tends to be hit or miss with their releases. That’s why I tend to stan groups that may explore different avenues from time to time but have consistency in terms of the vibe/atmosphere of their music, if that makes sense. And then I’ll casually listen to groups like RV who I know I’m gonna like at least some releases of.
I feel like an experimental, diverse discography that is all very good is definitely achievable, but the problem with RV is that their variation isn’t all pleasant to hear for most people. Plus, while their identity as a fun, “never know what to expect” type of group is great, I think overall, the top GGs Blackpink and Twice have managed to construct stronger identities that has helped them build larger fanbases. Maybe even too well, as Twice’s recent changes has kind of shown in Korea (although we all know how well they’ve been expanding internationally).
No, not yet I’d say. Maybe with more practice they will be there in time. I do think Ruka and Asa are comparable but Itzy has Yuna and Ryujin and their talent is rare for lead dancers to have.
But this was still an amazing performance from them, nonetheless.
Although as bad as she was, she still sounds better than other subvocalists like Shuhua and Giselletbh. Sometimes, akgaes just need to know their place .
Giselle is literally one of the best subvocalists in the game what are you on
Ughh so hard to choose because it always changes for me. Right now I’d say my girlYujin but also Wony’s deep vocals have been killing it this comeback and I’m so impressed with how good Leeseo’s higher register has gotten
I swear the ranking changes so much I can’t even say. Like IVE is dominating right now, LESSERAFIM is gonna come out and crush it, then AESPA is gonna have a massive comeback and then NewJeans is gonna go back to number 1…and don’t forget how much growth NMIXX is showing and how IDLE is probably gonna have another smash hit. I feel like because the market is showing so much potential for so many girl groups, it’s impossible to rank them until years down the line when we can view them in retrospect.
If I’m being honest, I hadn’t been following this group too closely or anything besides catching a few clips of them on TikTok. They seemed talented and the members who stood out most were Asa, Ruka, Ahyeon, and Chiquita for me.
HOWEVER, I just watched their last episode and OH MY GODHaram blew me away! Her voice is so unique among girl groups in Kpop and she pulled of Jazmine Sullivan’s Pick Up Your Feelings incredibly.
She definitely moved up my bias list for this group and I’ll be keeping an eye on her debut. She is so talented and I hope people stop sleeping on it after this video

I really appreciate her rapping, she has a different stylefromAsa and Ahyeon, the other rappers of the group (although I think Ahyeon is gonna be pushed into a vocalist role mainly). She raps really well in Korean and has amazing charisma, but I agree with the others in the thread, her English pronunciation is not the best and takes away from her rap tbh. If she sticks to Korean, she’ll be golden.
