most of the hate for Newjeans I've seen on Twitter has come from either Armys or LSF/Illit/other hybe group stans. I really don't think these extreme Armys are threatened by Newjeans, more likely they are fiercely loyal to hybe (as they are with anything else even loosely associated with their oppas) and because MHJ is shaking up hybe, they are taking out their anger on Newjeans

with the chart domination of multiple 4th gen ggs it seems the genre has officially exited the growing pains era circa 2019/2020 when it was just emerging and people were doom posting about kpop dying and becoming unlistenable for the general public. kpop's popularity is alive as ever and indeed growing.

So the proof is they are too successful? Or do you actually have proof? Can you explain how they did it with ALL the korean platforms and why they don’t do it for all their groups then? Because if I understand it right, any successful song by an unknown group is sajaegi or is it only for hybe groups? Because we already explained that the song was big among kids.
there's nothing damning about charting well, in itself, but when songs are topping the charts and yet the fandom is still relatively small (which is to be expected for a group just getting their names out there) so it can't be explained by mass streaming, nor does the general public seem to know the song, that's when charting well becomes suspicious.

hybe were the ones literally trying to create a monopoly--a practice quite infamous for destroying industries--talk about projection lol

always a joy to see all 5 EXID members together doing what they do best, put on a god-damn show! amazing songs, fun choreo, jaw-dropping high notes, great stage presence, I could go on.
tho it seems like Hani and Jeonghwa's mics were off/very low cause I couldn't hear them which is a shame but they still were fun to watch dancing

a shame to see her go, but rocket punch was really a dead end anyways. as much as she desire to be a kpop idol, I fear her best hope is to go back to japan and ride off the "former kpop idol" gimmick

very simple, easy listening song. nice but perhaps not the aggressively catchy bop some were hoping for

2nd gen idols were definitely forced to sing live more so we get more live vocal material to analyze from 2nd gen but idk that 2nd gen were necessarily better singers across the board.
it's also hard to compare because 3rd gen put more of an emphasis on dancing talent at the expense of vocal talent, and comparing good singers versus good dancers is apples to oranges
personally i think most of the best vocalists in kpop debuted 2010-2015 so late 2nd, early 3rd gen?

whether the premise for the hate (LSF being bad singers) is true or not, this mocking trend is a sad reflection of the human nature to gain entertainment and notoriety off other peoples' flaws and public humiliation

the metallic sound to many of the notes indicates some live pitch correction/auto-tune going on, but other than that (if this is really live an not AR) this is a good kpop live for a non-vocal group

Impressed by Dahyun, her tone is nice

worst thing about this group is their songs are in english so us english speaking fans are continually inundated with how awful kpop rap lyrics actually are when you know what they're saying.
also people always gush over this groups aesthetics but i find this very dark and ominous and not in a good way.

This is not good. Even if BTS is cleared, the fact that they were investigated by KOCCA for chart manipulation is already embarrassing.
This is what I mean with opening a pandora box if a company starts to display too much ego publicly. It can provoke the wrong people, leading to serious repercussions.
I really hope the investigation finds nothing and this is just a false alarm. If sajaegi is discovered, it would be a huge scandal, casting doubt on all of BTS’s achievements and their legacy.
Other fandoms should not see this as a victory. Such an investigation could trigger a wave of scrutiny for other major companies and their groups, damaging the credibility of K-pop as a whole.
I disagree that this would be such a huge, career shattering scandal even if the accusations turn out true. Even if BigHit used sajaegi for BTS when their career was getting started/they were ascending to top BG spot, their fandom and genuine success has exploded so much since then that I don't think some cheating early on will undo their later achievements in most people's minds.
i expect if proven true, 99% of fans would excuse it in a heartbeat and the general public would be critical for a day and then forget about it

I never got interested in the members enough to call myself a "stan" but I always appreciated their contribution to the industry. at one point NJ were genuinely the only 4th gen group releasing listenable music and were the last group stopping me from abandoning hope for this genre completely and exclusively listening to old 2nd/3rd gen bops

I think these accusations are confusing hopping on a general trend (retro concept) with specific plagiarism, just like the ILLIT accusations were tbh. people expect complete originality from every single artist without realizing that taking inspiration and borrowing and reinventing ideas from other artists has always been how any creative industry operates and produces it's best work.

it's really just yujin and ricky that really can't sing but besides them zb1 aren't the worst 4th gen bg when it comes to vocals by a long shot. however the song itself relies on a lot of falsetto which is always tricky, the line between sounding good and sounding shrill is so thin with falsetto
idk why they give the non-vocal members so many difficult lines, shouldn't they know the members skills level and assign lines accordingly? or are they afraid of fans bitching about their bias having no lines?
