I haven't even searched up the song, watched the mv, or listened to it on Apple Music but I STILL have seen dozens of the "flower challenge" videos on tiktok and instagram so I guess that demonstrates viral impact

It well known this is the strategy for Mnet reality/survival shows. Ever since produce scandal they can't blatantly rig things anymore but they can manipulate who the viewer is more likely to vote for based on screen time and building narratives (showing clips of the people they don't want to succeed looking "rude" or "greedy" and showing clips of the people they want to succeed looking "kind" or giving them an "underdog" arc)
The fact that both K-viewers and I-viewers fall for this obvious manipulation hook-line-and sinker is hilarious.

POP! is wildly overrated imo it's just a basic bubble gum pop song but still beats anything Teddy produces post 2018 that man needs to take an extended vacation his creative energy has been SAPPED DRY by YG ent.

Can someone explain what this means to someone who has no idea about streaming and charting?
Also can someone explain like why this is a big deal? If this affects big K-artists like BTS and prevents them from ranking as high on billboard why does it matter that much when by every other metric (album sales, k-charts, Spotify/Apple Music) they're still wildly successful. Okay so you lost 1 chart out of billions, why gaf?

If JYP puts money into this and actually goes through with this I'm curious to see how the West will receive it. From the trailer it sounds like they will be singing English songs but using the "kpop system" to train and chose members, but I could be wrong and they are going to sing in Korean?
If they target the Western market I'm curious to see how they will be received. Historically girl groups dominated Western music charts in the 50s/60s with vocal groups like The Supremes and then the GG market died until the 90s/00s when groups like Spice Girls, Destiny's Child, The Pussycat Dolls were successful. But ever since then the Western market is all about solos. Yeah recently Little Mix are popular in UK and Fifth Harmony had some buzz but other than that the GG market has been dead in English speaking world

I never get members of kpop group confused anymore even if I don't know the members by name I can tell they are different people. When I first started following kpop I did get members confused because the area where I come from doesn't have many koreans so it was hard telling them apart, but after following kpop for several years I have no problem distinguishing faces

In my opinion Kpop should always remain based in Korea. The main appeal of Kpop is not that it's pop songs sung in the Korean language, but that the songs, performance, and fan culture is the result of the mixture of different elements from Western music culture, Japanese music culture, and of course Korean culture. Thus, I have no desire to listen to 100% Western songs, performed by Westerners, for a mainly Western audience with the caveat that the lyrics are in Korean. If I wanted those things I would stick to English music.

How fun for the fans but the artists as well. Imagine going to a foreign country where most people can probably barely place your country on a map but then to see groups of people gathered together soley to dance to your music. It must be surreal from the artists perspective

LOL this reminds me of one of those festivals where hippies dress up like fairies and take shrooms and then go play around in the woods high as kites

Kinda a random song to cover and not really that impressive of a cover but I'm rooting for these girls. Apparently people are hating on them for their lack of training but I hope they continue to get better and more popular in spite of the haters

If they did go on they could actually do a lot of songs, even though it's only 20 minutes most artists do about 12 songs. I'd like to hear Mama, Growl, Call Me Baby, Love Me Right, Monster, Overdose, The Eve, Ya Ya Ya, Tempo, Heaven, Artifical Love, She's Dreaming.

LOL it's actually kinda funny and cute that knetz didn't realize that non-Koreans are aware of Korean culture and Korean sentiments. What they think because everything is in Korean we can't translate? Or do they just assume that non-Koreans wouldn't be curious enough about the intricacies of Korean society to look into it?

It's just a snippet so I don't want to jump the gun but the title is sounding kind of basic. But hey maybe the chorus will surprise me, I just hope nmixx producers don't do a 180 from doing way too much to then doing way too litttle

Kinda dumb how kpop artists lack a backbone and their companies are so placating to the fickle feelings of the public. I miss when artists would stick to their guns and refuse to change their songs even if it was controversial. But all these kpop companies buckle immediately under the slightest outcry and edit mvs, kick out group members, whatever else they must do to get the public back on their side. Have a freaking spine kpop industry.

For me itzy is not a group that can pull off the "minimalist" teasers, they need strong makeup and clothing with a specific concept to pull it off. It's not that anyone looks bad it just doesn't work conceptually

I have to disagree. I understand where Bora is coming from. Imagine you have a talent for singing that by far surpasses any of your contemporaries but you continually see people who are much less talented singers become more successful and praised in an industry that's supposed to be about singing (when we really know singing is the least important skill to be a successful k-idol). It's frustrating and would make anyone "greedy."
Honestly I think the kpop industry where "charm" and dance is more valued over singing skills is not the right industry for Bora, she should go into theater or be a soloist where her unique talent would actually be appreciated for what it is

read more books. I'm sure you've heard this a lot but it really helps with vocabulary, articulating thoughts with words, thinking, just everything. seriously, people these days don't read nearly as much as they should.
don't just read any book, because a lot of the books that get published and are popular these days use elementary schooler vocabulary. Try to read books that are slightly above your reading level so you will be challenged but not too high level that you can't finish it.

RV's interpretation of ballet is probably the most on-the-nose out of these examples but from these pictures I like the vibe of NJs the most
