both if it's well done. cool concepts are a bit overdone these days ad some of the groups that do they don't have the presence to pull them off, but that isn't the fault of the concept, rather the company that hops on trends without putting in the effort

it's not that deep. many companies cast idols that resemble their past idols (or have them get plastic surgery to look more like them) because it worked in the past. SM is famous for this.

also styling plays a big part, if a company tends to give their idols the same hairstyle, makeup, and editing, they will look similar no matter what.
